Hi. Wireless is not good at the best of times.... -20f will not be reliable

Problem is your secondhand price .. i don’t see the processor in your picture.

Hi. For 1 camera NAS is just wasting money. You can just use the software that comes with the camera on a PC or laptop and record to a dedicated hard drive. only one camera. You might find that a IP camera with built in SD card is better as you don't need to leave a PC on 24/7. You would only need the PC/laptop to view footage in the camera. IP camera and NVR is the best option . What is your budget

What causes this dim video signal problem? (Youtube Video Link Enclosed)
tomcctv replied to bmw1999m3's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
As far as I can make out ....... Your power supply is not good enough your not using baluns as they should be and your using ground loop that are not needed with cat5 and baluns you have to use the same balun on each end even in your image you have a mix of baluns. Baluns both ends and same make.........no splicing as you have said you are still having image problems with other cameras because 10amp is not good enough for 16 cameras at that distance -
We have always used Edision modulators Dont know we're your based if sold there

Hi. You need baluns at both ends. with baluns GLI are pointless and don't work ......... what at type of camera are you using .... Analog or HD ? -
Hi. You only need 1 . I don't know where your located to recommend one ..... But if you google HDMI modulator you should see a few .....but I would say pick one with the digital screen on ..... Much easier to setup you can also use it to arial to feed all TVs or your digital box

Converting Bullet Cam to Something More Stealthy Indoors?
tomcctv replied to PeteCress's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Peter ..... Long time since you have been on ..... Hope your having a good start to your new year.......except for the decomposing bodies smell. it can be done but a lot of messing about and hole for the lens is still the give away. also some cameras when you remove the IR board don't work then you have the filter to play with ....... Mover le lens filter no so much as a problem but treated lens is. i would look at miniature IP cameras ..... Nice and small to hide and only need a 3mm hole for lens. hikvision do a 2mp low light miniature IP camera. -
Hi. No the is a simpler way. Then as you have TVs that makes it simple ........use a HDMI modulator to run signal down your existing coax

Listen a simple 150ft would of done ..........no one knows how long your cable runs are till they ask. and if you don't think you need at least 1amp at that distance then you have a problem. Yes you understood the question........but again you have not give a answer how have you extended the cable from cat5 end to the camera and what length is the extension and what did you do the extension with and this is a important question. also. Have you done something like this. 4 baluns 1 cat5 from recorder to junction box at camera area. Extended each cat5 pair to camera location ? what did you extend with and at what point did you add the balun -

tomcctv replied to bmw1999m3's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Why are you finding it so hard to answer simple questions. This question is important....... How long are your cable runs ? GLI are useless with baluns What type of balun are you using ..........we had a guy on here a few months ago insisting he used baluns till he posted a picture ....they were not baluns And this is why we ask questions ......... I can tell you that 10amp on 16 cameras is a problem ..... You have not even allowed for cable length you have not allowed for power surge if cameras have IR.. what at I mean at camera end termination is. Are all 4 cameras at the same location ........all cameras plug direct into cat5 or have you extended some -
Hi. Splitting HDMI to 5 monitors will not be cheap. are they monitors or TVs if a tv then it can be done reasonably cheap but one thing to account for .....which ever way you go you will not have any control of system from monitors other than the main one.

How to choose a security camera system for your house?
tomcctv replied to Ronniezrzr's topic in Security Cameras
Usually junk is cheap...... but it’s taken a few years and brand name ip have become a lot cheaper. 3mp starting around $50 so why buy junk ..... why (like you stated) be watched and listened too in and around your own home. ......installing a camera that disables your firewall to allow others into your network cameras or pc collecting your data you might not be bothered about it but I can guarantee over 90% would be But unfortunately there will be people looking at installing there own systems not knowing the security problems when buying junk. You can see over the years .....I will push new DIYs on the forum to install there own systems. But I will surgest not using no name junk and in most cases it’s only adding a extra few $ to buy brand name and have something with long warranty years of use and integrate with other equipment -
Lorex is dahua ...... yes very familiar with hik and dahua and many others. I would not sell a hikvision nvr ...... data is still sent to China servers ...... it’s already been band from being used in some applications because of the data problem.

Hi. Will need more information. How will you record your cameras. On what make of recorder. do you have a IP network PTZ controller or are the cameras rs485 as well. distance of each camera 26 cameras with 6tb and using PTZ cameras will only give you a few days of storage. can you do a picture of your install. And resolution of your cameras.
-
Hi. This is under your budget and still better resolution than your links. https://www.lorextechnology.com/hd-ip-security-camera-system/hd-security-camera-system-with-2k-recorder-weatherproof-cameras/LN1080-88W-1-p hikvision you have listed is direct from China 2weeks waiting........ Then what if you have a problem or need support....... Or have to send something back at your own cost. you posted Canada links .....is that we're you are located. Lorex is Canadian based.....and support and Canadian cloud and p2p
-
Hi. None of your links are good. the lorex says 4K but does not come with 4K cameras. And spec says only 720 recording. Costco is selling old stock take a look at buying from lorex direct. https://www.lorextechnology.com/4k-ip-camera-system/4k-ultra-hd-ip-nvr-system-with-8-4k-ip-cameras/4KHDIP844NV-1-p

Hi. If you have only done reset on your NVR then don't touch camera settings. go into network settings on your NVR and check the subnet is 255.255.255.0 some resets put it to 255.255.255.255 and that won't work unless your cameras are set the same.......but a reset won't reset your camera settings

ISO outdoor security cam w/continuous record to mem card (no wires or wifi)
tomcctv replied to JBe's topic in Security Cameras
This is your best option. but if you wanted to spend a bit of money you could go with a 4G camera solar .....no power and you never need to go back to the camera as footage is sent to pc or mobile devises..... also access to sd card from anywhere. builtin router for remote access Video sent over 4G/GPRS/WIFI/WLAN Can move to other locations in seconds without changing settings -
Can i make a POE camera wireless and work with my NVR?
tomcctv replied to perky416's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Lee. Stick with the powerline plugs £29 and your problem is done. spending 100s makes no sense at all. ill guess your only talking 20ft distance ?
