Hi. If your not buying hik from a authorised dealer. Then don't use hikvision. Do not buy gray or China copy .... They will no longer work soon with hik software.
-
Where did you buy your camera from and has it ever worked. Gray or copy hikvision are no longer supported by hikvision

Hi. You can't turn old systems into new. Your system is too old made before the days of apple and android. Symbian Java ... Would of been the remote viewer

Hi. Not enough power for each camera. Why are you connecting two cameras to each output ?? Cam needs 1amp if with IR 2 X 1amp =2amp connected to 1.5amp output. Also if you are two up on each output that is 36 cameras Not a good install ...... 1 power failure takes out your full system You will need more power supplies and also along with the camera amps you will need to list distance of each camera and size of power cable used.

tomcctv replied to JayAlarms's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Hik ddns is not owned by hikvision You are always best either buying a static IP or use a ddns service in your own country -

Hi. Your milk house is fine ... No need for AC. Dvr lock box or make your own box with ventilation. I would also look at one of these for your barn so as you get some sort of notification. http://www.mobeye.eu/EN/products/18-fire-alarm/6-cm2400-mobeye-gsm-smoke-detector

You work in IT and buy hard drives from fleabay. your cooling fan might of failed and drive has over heated and made that fail But buying drives of eBay you are only buying another problem. Replace fan and new HD and you might be good for another 4 years

Hi. Why would you want to do this ?? It sounds like you could land yourself with a lot of legal problems. Rent out a house and you record the tenents and there visitors. I would not do what you are asking ..... It will cost you a lot more if caught. Including your house.

What's a good, cheap, stealthy setup for my house?
tomcctv replied to slayerbizkit's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. I would give hikvision a miss. .... They are changing both software and hardware to stop the gray and copy units from China All authorised distributors are sending existing stock back for the new more secure units. You are best also staying away from dome cameras for your install and going for something like these and for the price and discount there is nothing close to the price for a plug and play system. https://www.lorextechnology.com/cyber-week-specials/4-channel-hd-security-camera-system-with-ip-cameras/HDIP44D-1-p -

Network multiple access control systems
tomcctv replied to pjsquigley's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Hi. This might sound hard on you but access control is not for beginners. And going into a fire control without even talking to the company is a NO NO. Size of the install the fire alarm company also needs to know what you are doing since there system needs to control part of your system -
P@P viewing via PC
tomcctv replied to smartercam's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. P2p is not good at all and gives your customers problems. While all this mira attack is going on some ISP are giving static IP addresses. But p2p might sound simple you as the installers are taking away your customers network security. -

A data collection network for China government Hikvision are not bothered about the copy hik market or gray market and in turn distributors are dropping there systems ..... Hik has got themselfs into a big mess -
Wow do I hate researching security systems...

Hi. Since your last lorex system they have been taken over by flir systems. And now are dahua partners. That is a good price for what you have listed. -
1st time IP Security Camera NVR Setup - Looking for answers
tomcctv replied to jmac28083's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Did you do your research on price or products ... What is your budget ? First don't buy your system from Amazon ..... No support no warranty and on two of your items you have to pay for returns. You pic a dahua NVR then a OEM camera ...... Again you might not get the firmware updates for both ..... Stick to same brand. Your cat6 you listed is patch cat6 ...... Which is bad for CCTV. Buy a reel of cat5 ..... That way you are not limited to camera placement
