It’s not odd …. Please forget about your pyramids for now they have nothing to do with your problem on your remote for the dvr do you have a button marked DEV ….. it used to be top right

Yes I understand that ….. but the only way you can get a message on your tv screen other than from dvr is if the remote control that is used for the dvr also talks with your tv frequency…. I’m just asking you to test that

Ok then your remote is not paired with your dvr but with your pyramid still unplugged go to your tv with the remote from dvr and point it at the tv …… see if it’s talking with tv you should get the message up you are saying you get but again this has nothing to do with your pyramid once you have done this test I’ll talk you setting up your remote

Hi it can’t be dvr or cameras as the pyramid does not connect to monitor or dvr direct it is only a remote control extender… so it’s impossible for it to put commands on your screen what happends if you use remote control pointed direct to recorder without pyramid connected (powered up) I think you will find it is another problem are you using a tv or monitor ? has it always been connected via HDMI ? I can tell by the equipment your using that your in the UK …. Which area

Without knowing your units serial number you have a few choices switch off unit for 20 minutes then try each of these passwords 082752 028608 179968 as far as hard drive… there is no partitions I would leave it out of your recorder until you have setup a new password …. Then add the hard drive then go into system setup and format the drive from there

This has been going on for years … I stopped using hikvision recorders 15 years ago for the same problems …… looking in a customers log it had over 700 logins in one day. once it became known it stopped but started again in 2014 then again 2019 and it also started again January 2022 the main problem is there app and the P2P setup (hikvision auto sets up your router) which is never secure) can’t say much just know but 67 MPs in the uk have applied to uk high court two weeks ago to have all hikvision banned for uk use I would also like to see the IP address that have shown up in your log …. Hi your right to avoid alarm sensors going with a recorder with alarm inputs gives you a very cheap but reliable option that does not give false alarms you can use duel beam sensors …. Hi your looking at HD analog the cheap system is restricted to only 1 channel I would look for a recorder with alarm inputs much more reliable as alarms built into camera are very unreliable unless recorder has scheduled setup where recorder can change settings from day to night operation setting up a camera for day is not the same as night

Hi the Mac is assigned to the dvr ….. two things can stop it working second hand purchase this means it has already been assigned to a cloud service ….. you would need the last owner login details to be able to change second a clone system ….. also where the Mac has been used by another recorder quick fix ….. don’t use the cloud service (which technically is only P2P) as the cloud service on many cheap systems does not save footage for you use your recorders local iP and port forward it
