    Few basic questions D1 related

Hi Brent1971. since you already have cameras in place. then your first option is to change your DVR. then see which cameras you are not happy with. these units are D1 and also hybrid. so you can install either better analog cameras if needed and if requied you can also start using MP ip http://surveillance.aver.com/model/embedded-hybrid-DVR-EH1008H-4-Nano
  3. Just spoke to Avermedia and they no longer stock those cards. Any other options would be most appreciated. Cheers no they dont make it anymore. but still places to buy. and it still has support and software updates. which is why i sent you a link. all avers use the same OSD now.
  4. Hi. buying from direct from china has got easier. (on paper) but its far from cheaper than buying from your own country if something goes wrong. it only takes phone calls to a manufacturer to find your supplier.
  5. Hi. even if you have an old pc around a good budget card Hybrid. is the aver NV3000 if you have a budget of around £60
  6. hi. you can only get out of your dvr what the codec allows. its not just as easy as updating the cameras. if you plug both cameras direct into a TV you may see a differance

    Camera ir

hi. yes it will work. but a lot of expence to end up with a much less IR lighting. say your current camera with 860 has a range of 20ft if you change the IR to 940 your range is then down to 8ft

Hi. If your getting pms also about products . Then just be aware the dahua will not run 16 Sony 1.3 megapixel cameras.
  10. Hi. it depends on how old your unit is. 2010 models do need to have a HD format every few months. also are you using standard drives ?

Hi. for this type of install i would look at something better than kits. the samsung you have listed is a plug and play unit and these give problems ...... you only need the power supply to go and full system is down. then you have other problems like adding extra cameras. hybrids are not as expensive as you think. for carparks and play area a good MP camera will give better coverage than 1 or even 2 analog cameras

Hi. before a lot of work is put into your install or homework it is best to start with the regulations in your state. state laws regulate video surveillance in daycare centers so that is your best place to start

    Did my DVR die?

Got your PM, but not sure what you mean by cost of a call? There was no information about calling anyone? I just spent the last few hours looking at DVR's. I'm about ready to just select the 4 I am narrowed down to, but them in a hat and pick one. There are just so many choices! Hi. i got your PM. but before you go buying the models you listed in your PM i would say do some homework first. your PM list has a problem already. sellers are just there to sell and the one you have listed IS NOT A Dahua DVR. what is your budget. look at aver nano 4s or true dahuas

    Did my DVR die?

Hi. Avtech dont deal with end users. and as you may have seen on many avtech websites firmware updates can void any warranty. but there are companies around that will flash your unit. but its price. since yours DVRs in that range have come down in price ...... so its a choice spend to fix or buy new. were are you based.

My Files Are Missing. Please Help!

hi. does not sound like a good fix. it may all be lost. some DVRs are time reliant so you could be lucky if you try the following. 1. many DVRs that are just left to record for long times dont get maintenance done and you could be lucky in at some stage the date and time is out. if this is the date that came up when you switched back on check the year also. another way is when you reboot your dvr go into settings and set the system time to july the 5th and then reboot and do another search.
