  4. hi. i have not had much to do with eyemax. we just have lots of CMS links for footage collection. all ports on your dvr should be open. and under alarms you should have the option to send to remote CMS. (if these are not set then your CMS just becomes a remote viewer.) remember to right click on dvr options (it does not say anything about that in the manuals)
  5. hi. not with the new 2mp but i have had a play with the same but only 1.3mp which is under $120. and was very good like many other 1,3mp. what are you going to be networking it too ???
  6. Hi. click white area of screen on the left side ........ right mouse click >> add groups (each dvr external ip) it will take you a little time but have a play with it.

    Upgrade? Or Replace?

Hi. just a few things for you to look at. are you looking at replacing all cameras as well ..... as you will need to if you spend $16k on a NVR. Adventura. very good systems but again high costs but this is down to the analytics package. if you are keeping existing cameras then you are best going hybrid. you can upgrade to ip at a later date or if you buy a 32 way you can expand your 28 cameras just by adding ip to your network. we install this in all hiltons under our service contracts http://uk.surveillance.aver.com/product/hybrid-DVR-SA6832E-RACK

    Wanna bust out laughing?

PTZ. are a big expence most of the time its the most expensive camera on your system. and this has to be taken into account when buying one. ok we have lots of members buying standard cameras from the likes of ebay $10-$40 ok not a big loss when it fails. but now lots of people are looking at PTZ cameras and from chine or ebay paying $650 - $750 remember Ebay is a Auction site. sellers can and will offer 1 year warranty but in reality once you have paid and left your feed back that is the end of your auction product. for such an expense why not buy from your own country you can find for around the say price and have the warranty and you also have the legal side to get your money back at anytime with the warranty. i think Sean may have had his PTZ details of a new one out soon EFFIO-S 700tvl 3.9-89.7mm lens 24v ip66 60m IR Day/night (ICR) DNR (2D&3D) IR corrective lens Auto iris. auto focus.AWB / AGC/BLC 7 alarm inputs 2 alarm outputs
  17. hi is this your camera ??? spec is 4 amp in total so yes running it at a short distance sould be fine. i would do just as soundy says ... chop plug off power supply and attach it to the camera end over cat5 so you get video power data and alarm.
  18. hi. on cam 1 if you right click you should get audio options.
  19. Matt is right it is a common way of getting power to cameras. i would not spend money on buying cable from china. can you list what it says on your camera power supply that came with camera. with it having a specific power plug. it is a protection as what volts and amps the camera can take. do you have a link to your ptz.
  20. hi shock. we had this problem last year with a guy who bought his own PTZ. he also cut power cable and added stander ends and it would not work. what we found was the camera is very low powered both in volts and amps and will only run on local power. i think if you look at your camera spec it will be 12v 350ma ..... this is too small to use extended cables over a distance.
