Contol same PTZ with two DVRs
tomcctv replied to dfiver's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
dfiver. you hear lots of people complaing about how bad some customer services tech support are. people say they never pick up the phone when you call them. this is because they have just had a problem like yours and they have left there office to go and find a dog to kick. what stared out as Contol same PTZ with two DVRs is not the case. encoder and nvr you would not use rs485 on the NVR it is done via the software. i think before anyone can help you will have too list the following. dvr nvr encoders are you looking to view all cameras and ptz on the same screen via internet ??? and have control -
Contol same PTZ with two DVRs
tomcctv replied to dfiver's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
hi that is what we dont understand...... you dont need the encoder to do that. just run the new dvr rs485 to the rs 485 on the head side of the encoder. this then gives you control on dvr and over the internet. if dvr is on the network. are you using a DVR or a NVR. (are your other cameras analog or ip ?) -

tomcctv replied to dfiver's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
dfiver. i dont understand the reason for the encoders. is the encoder there JUST to view the ptz camera over the internet. nothing else no dvr or any other images ???? is this right. (your customer cant view dvr) -

tomcctv replied to crow's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
you might be better listing your dvr make and model also your router type and if in uk your ISP. watching youtube videos will give you a idea but if its not your system it can give you problems. we need to know your dvr asd some use a port number other than 80. -
hi. the forum is like a good working DVR ..... if its not broken dont fix it. i see you have only been on a few days so i think it just a learning curve. the first time you join then yes you need to look around but once you have been on a few days then you only need to use the (what i call the hot keys) View unanswered posts | View active topics | View unread posts | View new posts | View your posts you will find them top right of your page. some will be trade and others not. as you will see some you are locked out from

Contol same PTZ with two DVRs
tomcctv replied to dfiver's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
hi. i dont understand the encoder part ...... is this there to control the ptz over the network ??? or is it something like a manchester box (used if ptz has no pelco protocol) why another encoder ??? can you list all equipment you have make and model. -
hi. i have never found the need to have heaters with MP cameras. unlike analog MP put out alot of heat so just a fan is needed for summer. i like to keep camera power, and fan/heater/ IR seperated from each other.
-
yes a few thousand in the early days thats all there was if you wanted to mount a camera outdoors. i would run your 18/2 for fan and heater and with your cat5 1 pair for video the rest split for camera power

Installation of Eight DVRs through matrix switcher
tomcctv replied to rahuldigitech's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
thats were we got lost switcher is not a matrix. so you are using BNC out from each DVR and you have a switcher at each office ?? (to switch between each dvr) i think what you may also have is a signal amplifier. some look like a matrix. for 150m you would need 1 can you take and post pictures of your equipment. you may also look at soundys surgestion. avtech have a CMS so you would only need to network if you have a pc in each office -
Installation of Eight DVRs through matrix switcher
tomcctv replied to rahuldigitech's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
going from DVR to Matrix is done via in/out of BNC so you will have no control over DVR controls anyway. it would be a control via matrix. will all TVs be in the same location ?? -
buying from that site at that price.

casino with your products wots up sales slow ??? it is hard to sell cheap products at stupid high prices
-
brianparkes. spam is never a good thing. why keep doing it post after post. any way had a look at your site. have to say your prices are stupid. anyway your $5k hybrid. your site tells me nothing about it. what cameras // licence / total mp.what yet you give no information.

a foscam is infact just a web cam. you will get no detail at all with there 6mm lens infact you will not even get an image like your picture posted. and you cant get detail from that.

Do/Would you display a Video Security sign?
tomcctv replied to Firefighter's topic in General Digital Discussion
can i ask why you then spent money on installing cctv thiefs only have 1 goal to make money. house or a car. lets take a car thief. on a walmart carpark he sees 8 old bangers worth nothing and 1 new mustang they will always go for the mustang. same with a street full of houses all look the same except 1 has I have cctv sign. to a thief thats the house with the expensive goods -
are you down east london ???? £130 not going to get you much.... just a analog camera with a 50-75mm lens. good news is you have good lighting at night time. a recorder will be better ... for analog you would need either a 4 way card or a usb recorder (usb recorders can be cheap) but i would say spend as much money as you can on one and stay away from the cheap ones. Bosh pixem camera around £120 dahua DVR around £ 190 or a single usb recorder avermedia £70. http://www.avermedia.eu/avertv/UK/Product/ProductDetail.aspx?Id=473&device=4

Do/Would you display a Video Security sign?
tomcctv replied to Firefighter's topic in General Digital Discussion
Let me provide a real-life example. Guys checking for unlocked car doors at night (and stealing GPS units). Sheriff recognizes from the video as a convicted felon. Decide if you want that video used if it could be known as coming from you, on what is probably a slap on the wrist type of crime. you are spot on there Mike. in the uk 8 out of 10 once they put forward cctv from there house and see that they have to go to court. most drop there case. putting signs up on a private house dose not make the scum go next door infact it can have the oposite effect. house with cctv ..... they think your protecting your assets you have more valubles to take. all as your sign is doing is telling them to put a mask on. private homes should have a low key approch let the cameras do there job IF THEY need too. -
i was just going to say the same thing. his last visit was wednesday so he must just be taking it easy. survtech is your guy to talk with. card tables is both good image and you also need the speed (good fps) but its all about what you have inplace at the moment are you adding or a new install

hi vitos. we will need a bit more info to your problem. how are they smashing your windows. are they comming upto your car or using something away. how close is your car to your house. and what is your budget and location.

2 cameras with IR, power + video on one cat6 cable?
tomcctv replied to Secerator's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
50ft is ok with ir. but longer runs 2 pair for power .... its all down to what amps are pulled when camera is in full power (with IR) and you also have to take into account its start up load. if you are using just 1 mic you will only need 4 core alarm cable. you can use cat5 but with the twist and it not being shelded can give problems. alarm cable is very cheap
