    Calling all experts!!

like soundy has said wireless never works. plus people tend to install wireless cameras to the closest power point just for ease of install and not where the camera should be. most CNB will come UTP if you state it when you order i.e DBM-24vf UTP. then you can just run cat5 to each camera (for video and power) and just use a balun at dvr end. many good and bad budget systems out there. but you can go wrong with either dahua or avermedia 4 way. both do good iphone remote viewing.

    Geovision gv-800 help!

with buying from ebay you are not going to know. its just a chance you will have to take. but rarther than messing around with different leads why not just order the lead you need (black with audio) from geo. i take it that you do have the geo display screen (controls) when you switch on your unit ???

yes thats all you need. saves having to use a laptop or pc. you just use a netgear router 3g to put your dvr on the net.

    Geovision gv-800 help!

no neutech i might call in tomorrow and have a quick look. been going for the past 18 years but it just seems to be getting smaller each year. i think even the suppliers are having a hard time at the moment. last year i was on the CNB stand and they allowed me to buy direct from them which is a first for CNB. i will proberbly go to some of the shows in america this year

Dvr through PC with 4g usb device?

Hi. it can be expensive setting up a system like this. so you need to check a few things first. a normal 3g/4g dongle will not allow you to connect in (most only allow out) so you need a dongle with a broadband data plan for 3g or 4g. T-mobile over a good rate as does AT&T and vodafone for security products. then once you have that set-up all you will need is a 3g/4g router ... many do one .. netgear d-link and you can then just set your system up as you would over standard internet. dongles have a fixed ip as standard.

    8 channel balun recommendations

Hi ebay is hit and miss ... most times a miss. you need to run 2 cat5 anyway so for the cost i would just use single baluns. one other thing you need to look at is the main 8 cameras .... you are best running them to your hiden dvr first. if they do get to your main dvr and pull all cables out you will also loose the 8 running to your second dvr.
  7. if you had already tried to load the ip camera onto your system before you downloaded the GPL then you might find you need to uninstall everything then re-load the GPL then install the set-up disk that came with your camera and you should then see images

    Geovision gv-800 help!

Hi both the geo 1120 and the 1240 dont carry audio via same pigtails as the geo 800 does. this is only done though the black 8x4 audio pigtail lead. you can use a blue lead in any geo but not if it carries audio. this is why they colour code the lead kit. looking at the ops picture he only has the 8 way chip on his card so he can only use the top connector which is black and also does the audio. so he needs the black 1-8 video with 1-4 audio
  9. the Avtech 211 is a camera not a dvr. yes you can download the licence you need for linux to run your ip from avtech website. this is only for the avtech 211 the 211V will run on linux without the licence. you just need to google AVN211 GPL Linux this will load the codes you need.
  10. Hi. your nv3000 will take ip cameras as it is hybrid. but if you are using all inputs with standard cameras then your best option is changing your card to the nv5000. this will give you 4 standard cameras and 4 ip cameras

    Geovision gv-800 help!

it is not safe to change over lead kits. on a geo. the kit i listed is for a geo. black is 1 to 8 with audio blue is 9 to 16. you cant put a black tail into a blue connector or a blue into a black connector. (this is why they are colour coded) you do need the black tail lead.

    Geovision gv-800 help!

hi. you have a geo 8 way card. (looking at the chip set in your picture) so you can only use the black lead kit. the black has 8 cameras and 4 audio the blue only has 8 video .. so cant be used in the top slot.

Ok now it is around same time stopped working last night and once again, The Cameras went out again. I am losing my mind. They worked all day and now, nothing. what gives, can anyone help me. tech support is closed till monday. Jeff Hi could be a few things. if you have cameras with IR. are your cameras getting enough power when the IR switches on. what size power supply are you using / how far are your cameras from the dvr / and what power do your cameras need.

  17. 4k is a good budget ... you get people on here wanting the same as you with a budget of $600. we just need some more info. i.e how far are your cameras going to be from your dvr/nvr. and also is pc upto the task to run your system. with your budget i would go with a hybrid dvr/nvr. (you can do more with your budget) Dahua hybrid dvr is a good little unit and CNB cameras will be a good place to start with your homework.

    Recommended Cameras for Retail Store

Why not tell us how you really feel? its ok rory the spammer was deleted so i deleted my post. i think alot of people are looking for other than CNB. the price is starting to be a problem. we are abit lucky in the uk as CNB cameras are never on the likes of ebay.co.uk as the distributor has them removed. CNB has to off load out of date stock . and they seem to be doing this though the US distributors. but they do need to control the new cameras and protect there prices. i will pm you rory with another camera that is cheaper than CNB well worth you getting a demo.
  23. marquita188. hi no one is biting your head off. sometimes people dont like what the hear. and its the same when other come back with i read this and that. we are only pointing out that you will not do much with $25 cameras. (in your post you called them expensive) you will need to change the cameras. when you do post details on the forum before you buy and people will help.
  24. like i said before, the price doesn't matter. i read about it in a pro magazine. it must be ok then. well the best thing is to have a look at the settings on the back of your camera or on the OSD. start by doing a factory reset. and then focus your camera. and then start to alter the settings to suit your camera view. if you cant do any of the above then you have a problem that cant be fixed. history of a cheap $25 camera. it will start off in life as a $5 -6 camera from china. by the time the guy in america has had it shipped its now a $12 camera ebay fees postage and his bit of profit takes it too $25. i dont know what people or PRO magazine expect to get from a $6 camera.
