Mixing Cat6 & Cat5e Cable. Yes or No?

Hi stranded cable is only patch cable …. Not supposed to be used for more than a meter run ….. patch is not cat5 lorex have been sending that out with kits for years and has always been a problem would of thought dahua would have fixed that problem

Mixing Cat6 & Cat5e Cable. Yes or No?

You only need pliers…. No special tools Only that you ask a question ….. but disagree with answer 38 years this year in the industry in England .. USA and Spain it’s like your cat6 vs cat5 for cctv ….. no point cat6 your not going to be at any data speed with a single camera to justify it …… yes cat6 or 7 if building a large network … future upgrading…… but not a single iP point to point

    Cameras acting squirly

Hi. DVRs don’t really need software updates and they don’t effect the cameras anyway as there not updatable the text in middle of screen does not relate to tvi settings….. do you see this on the main screen as well
  6. Hi yes you should be able to use both …. For remote viewing on your smart devices requires you to use a app its finding which app is for your recorder can you post a picture of your dvr menu screen

There are plenty……. Till you get to requirements 5v with optical zoom …… HD cellular which costs a lot with cloud storage over cellular they do exist at a cost …… HD camera night vision cellular connection 24/7 and battery for 7 months …….. but it’s best it a budget is mentioned

Mixing Cat6 & Cat5e Cable. Yes or No?

Well not a good Option anyway two rj45 plugs crimped with multiple crimps and a coupler all in one location ………. So now your introducing resistance in the cable …. Not good for any networking just thought I would leave a link to the reliable jelly beans that are used in the network industry……. For two reasons … water and moisture and also stop air contact to cat cable ends which is a must or you will be doing it again in 6 months or you could just twist the wires together and cover with chewing gum in none of your posts you don’t like advice ….why do you ask

Mixing Cat6 & Cat5e Cable. Yes or No?

Yes you can connect cat5 to 6 ….. but it’s never good to have a join in any cat cable you are best using jelly been push down connectors and also keep the twisted ends as short as you can something like this will keep the connections water proof and then just put them into a plastic junction box the other good reason for jelly bean connectors is it will lock down on cat6 (23) cat5 (24) https://www.amazon.com/Antrader-Waterproof-Orange-Connector-Telephone/dp/B07D3LXHJL/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=2Z5JBFWG4V08D&keywords=jelly+bean+connectors&qid=1644796454&sprefix=jelly+bean+con%2Caps%2C164&sr=8-4

    ADDING CAMS

Hi you are just doing unneeded work there is only 1 right way to wire a rg45 connection and it is standard around the world if you don’t follow this pin out you will have problems

    Unwanted Reflection

Thought so by council parking permit in window You could improve your camera image buy swapping out the pinhole as they are useless unless close up …. Plus you have no control over settings on it depending on your recorder spec you will get better images if your dvr could take a hd analog turret camera … but depends on your recorder

Hi cameras never work properly looking out of glass windows do you have a light outside your property that you have control over ? Are you in the uk
  13. Hi no there is no cable to run …… the power cable going to your coop will also transmit your camera data there is two in a kit ….. one plugs into mains power by your router and a lead goes from the plug into your router the second plug you plug in by your camera and then you plug the lead into your camera and Ethernet on the plug ….. all leads are supplied and it’s all plug and play …… then you don’t have to bother with Wi-Fi
  14. Hi Then yes you have a easy option unlike Wi-Fi extender’s that do have problems with distance and walls in the way the other option is Ethernet over your existing mains power something like this https://www.amazon.com/Powerline-Ethernet-Adapter-Extender-TP-Link/dp/B084CZMYNM/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1DJEGHEI84W60&keywords=tp+link&qid=1644482665&sprefix=tp+link%2Caps%2C190&sr=8-3
  15. Hi do you have power in your coop ? also does your camera have a rj45 port

Geovision GV-600(S) "Video Lost" all 8 cameras

Hi you might need to update graphics card driver again for image to show on main screen
  17. Hi first part is right POE switch back to router …… then nvr is connected to router then you can call your cameras up
  18. No ….. it is best if you start with power supplies dvr on its own 2.1 amp then get two new 5amp power supplies run 3 cameras on each
  19. It’s simple …… as you are using power components under spec yes it might work for a while …. But it’s running hot to cope with the demand it’s not rated for
  20. Ok … now let’s do some simple sums 12v 5amp power supply cameras over your length I would say 1amp to 1.5 amp for allowing for IR 5x 1.5 = 7.5 amp you also have your dvr connected to the same power supply DVR needs between 2.1 and 2.5 amp mans you never run a dvr off the saner power supply to start with …..all DVRs come with there own power supply so in total you have 10amp on a 5 amp power supply so I would start fixing these problems first as you have too many faults to start with and a fire risk
  21. So which is the right information because none of yours makes sense your picture shows Cheap baluns ….. not pfm800 as you have listed I can only see 4 baluns in your picture but you have 6 things connected to your 5amp power supply which is only a 4 zone power supply I’m going to guess ….. are you running your dvr off the same power supply ?
  22. Hi amazon sells Poe switches and yes there powered but by using a switch you will be only using 1 cat5 the other can be used to power switch lorex switches are sold under the dahua name …… dahua owns lorex but expensive amazon is best place and we use BV tech ones all the time https://www.amazon.com/BV-Tech-Gigabit-Switch-Uplink-Function/dp/B08MWYZMLW/ref=mp_s_a_1_8?crid=2B4E2MY0STIUO&keywords=poe+switch+BV+tech&qid=1644021088&sprefix=poe+switch+bv+tech%2Caps%2C203&sr=8-8
  23. No. That is not your setup…. But how it should be no you don’t look for 12v baluns …. You just need standard HD baluns you only need power baluns for long distance which is why there 24v powered something like this is all you need https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/273595641495
  24. It can be anything from cable run environment….. baluns could be on way out and it sounds like your only using one 12v 5 amp power supply and this alone is all so a problem balun for your setup should be 1 pair for video and 2 pair for power yes what you have is working but now giving you problems so you may as well fix your system the right way your baluns are 24v in 12v out wrong baluns
