  1. Hi omer78. one thing i would say is stay away from you dvr you have listed. but your make of cameras is good. but with your cameras being so low i would look at CNB V/domes. using bullet cameras that low is not a good idea as the brackets are not very good on bullet cameras. were are you (if your looking for pal ) because with that sun in your pictures your not in the uk .... looks like spain ???

    Looking for budget DVR

the DM is built in the uk. but the 4 way avermedia is a much better dvr and half the price. like all DMs you are paying for the name. take a look at the avermedia eb3004net.

1st post - advice wanted for home setup

Hi filthrons. first of all NEVER buy from maplins it is a very cheap system and you will have nothing but problems. a good little system in the uk is the little but very good avermedia EB3004 net. full internet viewer by . smartphone/iphone/BB. setting a maplins dvr up just to do the above it just cant do it.

    Remote Viewing with Blackberry

Hi allen9315. is it a avermedia you have as a dvr. or another make. ???
  5. Quite a few online retailers sell their cameras, cards and standalones. I imagine the warranty with a retailer wont be much though .. should still have the manufacturer warranty though. Do you know someone in EU? CNB gave me some German website that has exactly 1 (!) CNB Dome on it. This was supposed to be their German distributor - ridiculous. try videcon http://www.videcon.co.uk/products.php?l1=3

    Firmware upgrade ?

if your dvr is working fine ..... then i would leave it as is. you may do more harm than good. but update is on there site. http://www.tcootc.com/en/Down.asp
  7. Hi andy. if £300 is your budget for the full system then i would say dont install cctv. the reason why i say this is. for that price you will be looking at crap. as in real bad recording very very bad picture quality to the point that you yourself wish you never wasted your money. just being honest with you

    Looking for budget DVR

i am shocked that DM would bring out a dvr with such poor frame rate. RECORD RATE True global record rates of up to 100pps (PAL), 120pps (NTSC) at CIF. Assuming all camera channels are populated: • CIF available at 25pps (PAL), 30pps (NTSC) per camera • 2CIF available at 12pps (PAL), 15pps (NTSC) per camera • D1/4CIF available at 6pps (PAL), 7pps (NTSC) per camera and for that price you could get a avermedia 8 way or 2 4 ways

    SOMETHING WRONG HERE !!!!.PLEASE READ

i have seen your post as many others have. and like others yes we know how to do a full factory reset on honeywell systems. but i dont think any cctv forum should give this info out and at least not to the world. many companys in the cctv industry protect there unit with an engineers password this protects us so as no one can play with the operating system side. you have a problem why not post were you are and see if you have a engineer who could fix your problem for a small fee. or pick up the phone and give honeywell the serial number of your dvr they will then send you a reset code. also has a small fee. But you do need to take a chill pill. you will get all the help you need on this forum all the guys you will get to know in time ...............anyway have a good sleep everthing will feel better tomorrow.

    Slight Distortion in Video Feed

Hi.mastervision. looking at your pic. you have all cameras going to a power supply which you have listed as 24v 1 amp. if that is the case then you have no chance running all 5 cameras off that. you will need that for each camera. the cameras you have listed are 950ma with ir.

    Buy DVR on ebay?

well there is your first mistake 1 is pal and the other is ntsc. were are you based ???? also if you buy direct from china you are going to have no support at all .........STAY away from ebay

    HIK VISION MODEL DS-7008HI-S

on the hikvision yes you can................... but if you are the owner of the dvr it should not be a problem. why remove it. YOU could be an employe trying to cover something up. so i would say call your installer or have a engineer call in. but i hope no one gives you that info on a open forum

    Power Problems

if your customer is complaining on a little bit of cable just walk away from the job. there is not much in replacing the single RG59 for RG59+2 as it would just to run an extra flex cable to the unpowered camera. but dont try to save money on the most important part of an install.

    record format

Hi simple. the settings you have are the best (frame 25) but i would say change your 25 to 12fps. this will allow you more storage on your H/D. .... you will not see much change using 12fps. ( pm you a demo video) were you can change the fps to see the differance.

    Home CCTV Advice Required

Henry. you might find this a bit hard on you. but you are just like a bot. one of the forum rules is DONT list prices. the other is people look for info. and the one thing forum users are going to say and stand by is always buy a brand name. as far as H/Drives any good drive will do the job WD/seagate/ hitch. i have a system in wv that been running for 6 years on the same WD drives. now the op has asked questions on how to build his own and the aver 3000 card is simple to fitt and will be much better than anything on your site. plus he will have a hybrid for future add on.

    New To cctv Help Appreciated
