QVIS IPTZ-IR20A NOT ACCEPTING NEW IP ADDRESS AND WILL NOT FACTORY RESET
tomcctv replied to snagga's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Did you install the cameras from new sounds like your admin rights are restricted someone has created new admin rules that don’t give you full administrator rights ie will let you go into menu and alter simple settings — brightness contrast but not engineer rights -
QVIS IPTZ-IR20A NOT ACCEPTING NEW IP ADDRESS AND WILL NOT FACTORY RESET
tomcctv replied to snagga's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. If the IT company changed ip and subnet mans you know the cameras ip then is sounds like you have a subnet problem to reset the cameras to default you will need to set a pc or laptop to same subnet and gateway as the camera then go into menu and reset to factory same reason why qvis tech could not see your cameras remote login to your unit has a different subnet or gateway .... so can’t see them where are you based ? -
Hi. It depends on what you want the camera for. the reolink is a lot of money but most of the features are pointless.... and it has a very short battery life. first it is advertised as a PTZ. Pan Tilt Zoom but I fact it’s just a PT ....... it has no zoom next problem is you don’t want it to make sound when used in remote location or it will be found and stolen as it will alert its self to where it is. next. If you use the PT function and leave it looking at one spot it will not record elsewhere around it ...... only if your watching it 24/7 is the pan and tilt useful and that will flatten the battery after a few hours expensive camera that can be stolen hours or days after install

BlackVue updated all there software for the units and remote view and server back in February and my units have never failed even using without power pack I get 16hrs of standby time using OBD connection subscription should only be a problem if your using more than I system on the same account. .... something like fleet management subscription of a single system account has always been free. blackvue. Are still the leaders in dashcam yes they are a little more expensive than others ........ but if you take into account the units life time (4 to 5 years) and free software updates is better than buying new every year or two from other dashcam manufacturers

For years this forum has warned members on giving out S/N numbers to a 3rd party your website is showing as registered in Hong Kong but data from Vietnam websites that have only be running for a day or so with only a short life time (2021) are just going to give problems. if people need to know if the dahua is offline..... it’s simple ..... there device will tell them why would they want to give you there serial numbers along with there IP address (which your website collects) STAY AWAY FROM USING THIS SERVICE

IP cameras and POS system
tomcctv replied to minni1986's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Com port might be another option if everything is setup right and your getting no data it could be your recorder. 1. Your software is not up to date on your recorder 2. your recorder could be a gray market unit alibi hikvision a few years ago were a copy and are not supported by hikvision looking back at the manual your recorder does have rs232 and a config setup page the cameras you have over your registers are they analog or ip -
IP cameras and POS system
tomcctv replied to minni1986's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Yes that is right. depending on how many registers you are using ... each one using same ip address But each register has a different port number looking at the spec for POS setup it will allow you to use most setup options ip data hex data (rs232) ave data (3rd party box) try what we have discussed and see if you get any data at all even if it’s just a mix of letters and numbers that would just be a handshake problem (hex code) -

PTZ Joystick...over Internet ?
tomcctv replied to steuk's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi. Why would it be an issue. he would still need a pc or laptop to view the camera he wants to move. other options using a network joystick. But you will have to make changes at ptz ...... camera needs to go into a switch before it’s connected to nvr. So he can have direct link to ptz from remote location other is moxa rs232 to USB ..... this you would use on the remote pc and it turns a USB port into command for ptz control via com port ..... but his remote software needs to support this option what make is ptz and nvr in use -
PTZ Joystick...over Internet ?
tomcctv replied to steuk's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi. Yes it’s simple and has a few ways of doing it. first way has no cost ..... most nvr remote software has the ptz control built in for all devices windows / Mac / iOS / Android option 2 is install a nvr of same make in his home and call all cameras to that. this option also gives your customer a off site backup recording giving his system a bit more security -

Cctv footage Cloud backup
tomcctv replied to adequate's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Don’t use a 3rd party cloud you will save a lot of money installing your own and hiding it take a look at the WD cloud unit. It will do what you want and also other benefits like photos / video / music storage from your other devices -
Hi. Two problems stand out from the start. First is your cat cable stranded cat6 should not be used for that distance only for patch or locations that may have movement...... also you can’t clip stranded cat6 other is power cable over that distance 0.75 or 1mm would be better how many cameras do you have on each cat6

Hi. With a budget of £500 going the Poe switch option and your cabling your budget is not much. how many cameras do you think you need 4 in 1 shed and 2 in the other ? an nvr is now only the size of small dvd player a box would only be a few £s to house it in. you can buy cheaper options from eBay or amazon ..... but you need to look at how the audio is configured some need wired mics back to nvr some the cameras don’t have built in microphones so that’s an extra cost
-
Hi. Cable from house to shed will limit your data from cameras (running all data from switch back to nvr on one cable) install nvr in shed and run your network cable from house to nvr in shed. this will save you a lot of money as no switches are needed and you won’t be limited to resolution of cameras
-
Hi with sort distances like yours POE switch is not needed nvr with Poe
-
Superlive plus is one of the best apps at the moment fast HD with audio and full control of nvr from mobile/pad and pc what will be your cable distance house> nvr > cameras we’re are you located
-
Hi. I would look at 6mp cameras with audio with your budget. 4 cameras in a shed will give you most cover as 6mp will give you more detail than a 2mp
-
Hi. We’re are you located and what is your budget. 360 camera might be best for your barn areas plus it would keep the cost down for your remote location barn as they are very low power use. your nvr would be located on the house which would give you view of all cameras
