Pulling cable for 16 cameras
tomcctv replied to Lawnmowerman's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Sounds like you have put a lot of thought into your install .......but if you ask any installer ......its pays to replace cables as well or someone else's problem becomes yours ..... And it's your time and money. on a job this size you might save time and money going IP .......no power supplies no HD balun costs no extra power cable costs and you will save install time by a day or more. what equipment are you thinking of using ? -
Video loss after connecting a new camera
tomcctv replied to maciekwsp's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Your new camera do you know what format it is AHD or cvi or tvi .........your unit might only be AHD have you thought of just buying another AHD 720 -
From the DVR menu over net. did you remove one of the customers cameras to test as you try options ? if you try firmware from a tvi or st analog then it will not work ..... You need firmware for AHD unit software is only AHD 720 hardware is only AHD and you can't change that.
-
That's simple firmware alters a problem a DVR or NVR might have. And deletes and overwrites it That is not going to work ......... You can't make your own firmware from bits of everything. It won't match any software. €110 for a no name ........what part of Greece
-
Hi. Like in first post you will have to go try them all till you find one that matches the software Xmeye vmeye secyour idvr....... But if do find it ....it will only be a 720n unit DVRs are cheap is it worth all this
-
A big difference will be seen going 420 TVL to 960h the unit is still supported so a few years left in it. IP can be added to it
-
Hi. 420 cameras are low ......you will see a big improvement if you look for 960h cameras which is the max
-
Hi. That's a good few years old .....but was a good unit it's a hybrid analog IP only system cvi will not work on it ....was not even a option when that was sold .......so it's just D1 even using 1.3mp cameras it was limited.
-
Hisilicon board XMEye match your software No not the firmware version...4.2 not 4.3 https://www.unifore.net/analog-surveillance/v4-02-r11-h-264-dvr-firmware-download.html

We can only read what you type ...... before you press any menu take a picture before if reboots so we can see gui and again what apps were used
-
Hi. 12v at camera end is that with a power supply dedicated to that one camera ..... also what size is it ... 12v but what amp. Also what cable is used for power and what size have you tried to power the camera local
-
In that case no one needs to upgrade there units to go from 720 to 1080 ..... this is not the case hardware also is different
-
It would be much easier to load pictures of your units screen menu then people would know who’s software what app was used when you got your system
-
That board is used In hundreds of dvrs all with different software your link 720 AHD .... last link 1080 ywo differant units
-
Hi. You might want to start with picking ONVIF in PTZ protocol menu can your use your PC web browser and connect to PTZ direct it's IP address should be 192.168.1.108 using admin for both user and password
-
Hi. Guess work is not good ... you have listed 3 boards that are all different. Firmware willnot help your problem you need the software that works with your board....... the software needs to be working to use firmware
-
I want to upgrade my system but I have recently run new Coax all over.
tomcctv replied to osity's topic in DVR Cards and Software - PC Based Systems
Yes there is no difference if HD analog or IP coax has a much longer range than cat5 there vms software is not 8mp or is there dvrs or nvrs so it might be best looking at 5mp if your going windows then yes your option is run new cat5 to your locations any reason why you don’t want a standalone -
Hi can you give model numbers of your equipment as your talking of dvr and ip cameras

Video loss after connecting a new camera
tomcctv replied to maciekwsp's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. It depends on your dvr ..... some will be limited to MP size of cameras and some 720p will only allow 1 or 2 channels to be higher move your bnc which has the 1080 camera onto channel 1 and see if everything displays ..... but it looks like your dvr has a max of 720 each channel dvrs are not expensive you you might want to start looking at upgrading it to a 4 in 1 .....5mp dvr .... it will run your existing cameras and your 1080 and upto 5mp each channel -

Hi. Yes the avermedia was a good system for a few years but they stopped cctv I few years ago. you are fine with your existing coax and power supplies mess your 5000 home built or aver built coax will take upto 8mp HD cameras only problem is if going pc your option is going ip -
Hi I would keep testing simple ...remove camera and plug it into another location ..... if this is just a camera swap to start with it could just be the camera faulty are you using standard analog analog or HD ...... and have you got the right region camera PAL / NTCS
-
Just like what was said in last post but it’s not just about looking .... how can you tell if a dvr is HD ...... only by spec.
-
Cameras don’t come with flashing lights or siren built in .... and to be honest useless ...... but the recorder and cameras need to give each other the command we’re a normal system does not need that. To tell if a system is HD analog or ip is the analog like standard is BNC connection ...., or it states cvi tvi or AHD format ip rj45 and poe but sorry yes your link is ip for some reason mine came up with both formats but again Costco link are still cameras only work with that system
-
Standard nvrs yes in most cases use other cameras ... but in the Swann and lorex links you posted the cameras only work with those systems ... proprietary systems have never been good. Install cost was not ment can you install it ...... i ment by the time you bought Costco system then the power pack and cables and bnc and camera power cable ... add an extra $200 on top of the price that’s is because your link is analog hd Yes was wrong ..... look at lorex storage calculator it states when set at 1080 2mp is 16 days .... 8mp is only 3 Costco link is HD analog link I posted which is much better and will be cheaper to install than Costco system is full ip
