  1. a ptz does not have to be on tour all the time. but it is the best camera type for a carpark. its just good to have the option of a moving camera when needed. and the CNB ptz is no where near that price. and is a very good camera.
  2. Hi tomboyt. nice to see you are putting in some good work in find the right system. but as mentioned your cost is a little low. but you have a good budget to start buying. you say you need 16 cameras. why not buy a good dvr and some cameras with your budget and keep adding as and when you can. start by protecting your loss areas first i.e tills/ stock/ kitchen area and car park. have you thought of a ptz camera for your carpark area. 1 camera ptz will save you money on putting cameras everywere. 1 ptz with sensors. also when looking for a dvr in a pub it is good to have pos on your dvr. this will let you see how much stock you have sold each day along with video. but always look for brand name systems. take a look at the avermedia range of hybrids.(all have pos) and you cant go wrong with cnb cameras. were are you so we can see who is a good supplier in your area.

  4. Hi niall. the camera you say you are using pic 2 has a BNC connector. standard. also can i ask why you want to put it into a housing as this is going to give you big problems. you dont put a camera with ir into a housing
  5. Hi niall. if you are talking about cctv cameras. i have never seen that type of connector on a sony cctv camera. but i have seen something like it on a plug and play (small monitor with plug in cameras) they carry the sony name and others. can you post a pic of your camera.
  6. the Ranger FM1 Focus Indicator is very good i have had one for 3 years. it does however have 1 problem. it does focus the camera very well but if you try to use it were they is alot of movment i.e setting cameras in a bussy shop it can not focus if it has movement in its line of site. so you have to go back to the good old monitor.

Are all 6 of my camera's DEAD after storm?

Hi scott. first thing is it could just be a bad power supply. to check this first thing you need to do is take down one of your faulty cameras and bench test it (with a new power supply) i think if you are running power that far and its only 12v

can someone help me please ec04

the DM ec04 has been around for a long time. it was DM first plug and play from the box. you could spend alot of money on your dvr and in the long run you may find it best to replace it. other problems with your dvr if you need to take footage off you either need a cd writer (and the patch lead from DM) also writer has to be compatable. so you are looking for a secondhand one (like looking for bear poo) or you need the good old vcr to do your back-up. i would look at an avertech as a replacement (it will save you money)

    Avermedia vs Nuuo

the avermedia EXR is a good little unit and as of 30th july it is even better with its new updates. and with you using the two top of the range sanyo cameras it will beat the Nuuo hands down. unlike the nuuo you do not need to buy a licence for your cameras. and unlike nuuo you can now run your sanyos at full res. EXR6004 support IP camera resolution up to 1600x1200(MJPEG) or 1280x1024 (MPEG4) 1. Support IP camera motion detection 2. Support motion recording 3. Support import / export function in the system setup for easy use 4. Support 3 different default playback mode for easy use

  20. Gotcha. Any recommendations would be good. How about an AVermedia NV3000L? Would one of these work with software of my choice? And be sure to recognise my camera? Thanks Soundy HI sloper. yes the aver is a good card. and its own software will run your camera........... its not your camera that is the problem your camera will work on any dvr or card (except ebay crap)
  21. Hi. your problems are ebay rubbish. start off with crap and you will always have crap.

Maxicam PIR floodlight, hidden CCTV camera in a PIR floodlight, black & white picture, plugs into your aerial system via a suuplied modulator (optional) to view on any connected TV, 120 degree PIR sensor detects movement and switches lights ON for approx, 4 minutes (automatic nighttime only), remotecontrol keyfob temporarily switches floodlight ON to see the camera view at night-time, 300watt lamp, 17mts of cable and key fob. Product Code : MM40012 a cheap lasser pen will sort it out

    Foggy night image

see the two spotlights you have right infront of the ir. just cover them up at night to see if they are reflecting some ir back into camera.

    anyone w/ experience w/ NXU 8000?

Hi which dvr do you have ???
  25. jackdf. you are best getting a pro company in to do your install. first off your dvr is just basic/ no ip/ so that need changing first of all (thats the first lot of money wasted) it also sounds like you have never done ip before. but you wont protect your install with that dvr.
