  1. I am not asking this for specific , this is in general for any c-store. What are the prefered system which can give best result , easy retrival , remote access good life etc.

Hi naru. it would be best for you to give what your buget is. its ok asking what are prefered systems .... it just there is a massive gap in prices.

are you looking for standard / ip / hybrid .

  2. it may be best to let people know what your budget is. as far as i can tell from your limited spec. is you need more than a cctv company. you also need a company with a licenced for fire in that state.

you may also find that any company you use. are going to want to work with the products they know. at the end of the day it is there company name that is getting used.

you must have worked out some sort of budget with your customer. do you not have some drawings or anything just to see the size of job. 1 size of cctv system 2 size of fire detection system 3 door entry systems.

  3. Hi All,

Hope you can help in some way.

My problem is i bought some cameras a few years ago and the dvr card has died, the cameras are not branded but still work reasonably well. i have recently purchased a NV930X 12fps 8 channel 4 channel audio DVr card.

I bought this because it was one of the only ones that was win 7 compatable. I installed the drivers last night and now it has knocked out my firewall and my internet connection i did a scan on the drivers and it said it was clean done all my security scan and no viruses so i can only imagine it has cahed some settings.

Hope someone can shed some light on this.

    Thanks mick

i would remove the card and then just do a system restore. looking at the card specs. i cant find one that says its win7. were did you get the card.

  4. This happened about 10 miles from my office. They all have masks on so you can't identify anyone and the outside camera doesn't have enough resolution to read the plate.

I would like to see what technology everyone would use to prevent this from happening again and/or catch the perps. Upgrading the outside camera would get the plate but their is alot of other technology we could use.just looking to brain storm here.

    link to the video.

Shutters and smokecloak would be my first suggestion.

    Ilkie

Smokecloak looks interesting have you installed them before? Is it legal in the US? I could see the perp tripping and breaking a leg then suing the owner and installer.... which BTW it think is **** ridiculous

thewireguys. you have hit it right on the head. we are a user of smokeclock. we (smokebandit) much faster and better. its been used in the uk since the 80s but got into problems with the legal problems. stupid laws like if the scum fall or break something while caught in the smoke. the owner is liable.. but there is a legal way around it now. i will send you a pm.

  5. unplugged everythig like hard drive (data and voltage) monitor and LAN but is still not working..

I have no other ideas to get it work...

    thanks for your interest!

Hi did you manage to get your DVR to work.

I just upgraded mine to firmwre 1.0.3b97 and now it does not work. When i power up I get the DVR H264 logo, then the screen goes blue.

they have a warning on there website. FIRMWARE is not an upgrade. it is a fix only that if your dvr has problems. if your dvr is running without problems (do not do a firmware)

firmware1.0.3b97. is only for use with the following models. US411/RVH1004/US811/RVH1008/US611/RVH1016. installing the firmware onto anyother model will render your dvr inoperable and will not be covered by warranty.

  6. Thanks for the reply, Gardiner are no longer in business, they have been took over by ADI, and their prices are just crazy. i want to be able to compete with the distributors here so need to base my price on theirs or under if i can. so a realist idea of what installers are paying for products here would help me decide what realistic price i can set.

    Shane

its going to be hard to setup in your area. you have the biggest distributor in europe. this is going to make it very hard for you to get good branded name cameras.

asking people what they pay for cameras is not going to be much help. you have to be the same price or less. but then you have shipping. the company by you offers free P&p to spain. that alone saves £40

you would be best listing the type of cameras you intend to stock and your sale price along with postage costs.

  7. I believe Tom just confirmed which set was power and which set was RS-485. The problem now is trying to figure out which protocol the PTZ is set to. If its chinese, those PTZ's almost always are set to Pelco-D, and its either 2400 or 9600 Baud rate, Either CAM ID of 000 or 001. But it could be something else too. Unfortunately, A PTZ is not a piece of equipment that you want to have without a clear set of instructions. As said before, you will need to contact the supplier to confirm what wire does what and what the protocol, baud rate, and CAM ID is. They are the people that can really help. We are just playing a guessing game here.

Thanks SEANHAWG this information helped me nut till i have problem in zooming and turning rounf

power supply is too small. what size are you using.

  8. I'm thinking of fitting a PTZ camera for a home setup. It would be mounted at the bottom of our garden on the garage. I know I could use fixed cameras but like the idea of PTZ for 'playing'!!

I have been looking at the Concept Pro VHSD-810EXT which is a CNB camera but branded as Concept Pro in the UK. Any comments on this camera, good or bad? The camera will be connected to a Averdigi EH1008-4 Nano DVR.

In terms of RS485 connections can I use CAT5e to connect the comms from the camera to the DVR. The distance is around 50m from the garage to the DVR in the house.

    Thanks in advance.

the concept is the only ptz we use . in 3 years sent 2 back. as for as connecting to your dvr. it is a direct connection. (on back of your dvr last 2 on the green strip are for ptz control) just set both dvr and ptz to 2400 so you have control over with moblie phone. only problem videcon are trade only.

  9. Thanks Tom.

We're in the middle of a new build so haven't a large TV yet as we're living on site with most of our stuff in storage! However I do have a small LCD TV with VGA input.

I've been looking at the specs on the Avermedia monitors vs the specs on the Iiyama monitor I have and I honestly can't see why the quality would be so much different between the two. The screen size is the same, the resolution is the same and the type of display is the same. The specs for my monitor are here:

    http://www.iiyama.com/gb_en/products/prolite-e1706s-1/#specification

I could understand a slight reduction in quality but the output on my LCD is very poor in comparison to the output from the BNC SPOT connection on the TV. Doesn't make sense.

Have you any recommendations for suitable monitors which ideally would have BNC outputs as well as VGA inputs? What are the Avermedia Touch range of monitors like? Any other touch monitors compatible with the Nano?

    Thanks for your help.

Hi andy. avermedia touch monitors are good if used with the CMS software or the SA dvr/nvr but for the cost i would just stick with a good wide screen.

i will post you a link to my supplier for monitors. £60 19in hanspree 5 years warranty.

  10. The best online store for security cameras is [link removed] .it sale many type security cameras with low price and with two years pertected

sometime its best not to list your own company. like alot of people on here. they will do a company check first.

its something i do anyway when looking for suppliers.

you are showing up as 6 differant companys all under one name. all to do with cctv. not a good start.

  11. hi. you need a wide screen monitor with the nano. if you are just using a standard 17in then your image will not fitt.

if you have a tv with VGA. you could use a KVM and split your output of your vga and run a cat5 to your tv that way you will have full control on local monitor and also your tv.

I'm not sure what you mean by the picture doesn't fit. The output seems to fit the screen ok but the quality is poor. Is this what you mean by not fitting?

Using a KVM is one option but would then involve a VGA to CAT5 converter. I've seen some monitors which have VGA input and a BNC output which could then be fed to the TV via CAT5 and baluns.

Can you confirm that the quality of the VGA output should be as good as what I'm getting from the SPOT monitor output?

yes the vga should be alot better. in the last month we have installed 14 of the nanos. 2 of which are on 32in monitors. do you have a large tv. just try your dvr in that see what you have. but you do need better than just a standard 17in monitor.

  13. I'm trying to run two analogue cameras down a single CAT5e cable. However the cameras are about 5m apart so the question is how to successfully split the single CAT5e to serve both cameras? Is there a junction box needed for this or is there another way? I am powering the cameras locally so am not running power through the CAT5e.

    Any help appreciated.

Hi andy. a good way is run your cat5 to the closest point to both your cameras. connect your baluns and use a coax patch leads with a bnc to bnc connector from your camera back to your cat5.

    so balun

    Passive_Video_Balun_CCTV_accessories_CCT-1.jpg

    then BNC to BNC connector

    BNCCoupler-1.jpg

then a patch lead to each camera.

  14. Only looking at the camera end of it now.

Probly go 350.00 installed per camera.

    Dvr 2,400.00

    PTZ 1,800.00 installed

Little markup for Battery backup, balum's, Power Supply. and misl. stuff.

    Probly 9,500.00 in material

gtxkid. then thats your first problem ... the spec you have listed is for ip. (licence for cameras) are you talking $

  15. are you doing this away from your own network.

    Yeah I'm not on site.

On site (on the LAN) I can access the DVR via the Web Service and it logs in fine, it's just trying to log into it on the WAN where the problems start

do you have a static ip address

  16. how are you loging into your dvr. Http:// your ip:37777

    I tried all 3 ways ...Http:// IP:37777

    Http:// IP:37778

    Http:// IP (80)

The last one above produced the info message "Time Out" at the Web Service login page, the other 2 (37777, 37778) either didn't connect or produced the same message....I can't remember those 2 and for some strange reason all 3 are failing to connect now so I can't check?! Must be something up with the router

are you doing this away from your own network.

  17. It should look like this:

Local IP Address - Protocol - Local Port

    DVR IP - TCP+UDP - 80

    DVR IP - TCP+UDP - 37777

    DVR IP - TCP+UDP - 37778

OK I've done the above with the public port field left blank as in pic below (I know pic shows 37776 but has been deleted!) and now I get a new "Info" message when trying to login on the Web Service page which is simply "Time Out"

    http://s1216.photobucket.com/albums/dd366/eivissa85/?action=view&current=routersettings2.png

I can't access the router remotely anymore as all traffic is being forwarded to the DVR, as you mentioned this isn't a problem as the only time it needs accessing is to sort this, which looks like it needs to be done on site anyway! Just wish I knew what it was that needs doing?! Is the "Time Out" message simply a slow connection? The Web Service page does seem to take a lot longer to load up than it did when login wasn't a problem, maybe a problem with the router?!

    Thanks again for your help!
