  1. The android tablet we are currently using is a Velocity Micro CRUZ reader. It runs android v2.0. This machine has been the test bed for our application software but is not the tablet we intend to use in the future. This tablet has WIFI but not bluetooth. We do not have a CCTV camera as yet. We are open to any tablet and CCTV camera combination which will get the job done.

    Thank for your quick reply.

android application software, which we have created

is it a cctv system you want that you can see on your android ??? you only need a camera or dvr that has already got a android app available and your ready to go.

Well gas is $4.70 a gallon here now .. even in my 3 cylinder truck im easily spending $5 a day .. if I was driving my 4.0 jeep .. well probably more like $15-20 a day .. and thats all without doing any real driving .. lots of small jobs and people want us to work for pennies, or free.

Glad to see Scorpion is still with us

  3. :D Hello, I am new to this forum so I hope I don't ask questions that have been answered in the past.

We need to have a CCTV camera send its signal wirelessly to an android tablet for display. The distance between the camera and the tablet will be 5 feet or less. We need the android application software, which we have created, to interface with the CCTV viewing software so that we can touch a button on the android and have the CCTV images appear on the android screen. It would be ideal if there was a fast bluetooth like v3 available for this so that the camera and the android tablet were paired. We have also heared that the WIFI specification will have a pairing feature in the near future so that bluetooth will become obsolete.

Does anyone know of a system that can do this now? Or anybody working this problem?

    Thanks for you consideration.

does you current dvr have a android app available.

  4. The setup has been installed and apparently it's all been set up in a covert way.

According to my friend, the mic was installed wrapped in foam and housed in a

boiler flue housing glued, (yes glued) to the wall and it works way better than was

expected. All that remains now is to wait and see if a big fish can be caught.

Apparently the family, that are subject to bullying from their neighbourhood youths

were so grateful that the father of the house was in tears. I hope he doesn't think that

surveillance is a complete solution, it's just a means of gathering evidence, it's not a

one stop solution in a box to the trouble they have been suffering.

I was told that apparently a magistrates warrant was required to record covertly and it

was granted as result of two years of police reports of harassment. The council's policy

is to prosecute ringleaders, sending out a stern warning to others that might consider

this kind of behaviour . This is a council run housing estate (project) the offenders can

be evicted from their homes if they are in council run housing. Ringleaders can also be

subject to a "restraining" order which could land them in gaol (jail) if they break the order.

I am interested to see what happens now but unfortunately unless I hear about it in the

media my friend cannot disclose any evidence to me for legal reasons.

    are you a SIA company

  6. I know what you are talking about but i cant understand

google chrome or firefox does not allow you to use active x so he need to run it in i.e.

ActiveX is only supported by Internet Explorer (and browsers built on top of Internet Explorer) on Windows. Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and others do not support ActiveX

  7. Thanks for replying so soon.

I've had a Bond 1008 sat in the garage for about 7-8months from an old rip-out. Before it was decommissioned I couldnt login using the old 'admin' and the usual 1234/1111/4444, i tried 'dowshu' and 007(which was the norm when I used to install them about 3yrs ago) but never got in. I thought I'd worry about it later... 8months later!!! That is not however the problem!!

I've got a job for it tomorrow and thought I'd dig it out... only to find theres a corrupt file on the software hdd!!!

I can get as far as booting up the windows domain reconfig thingy(wont boot windows, just hangs) but then asks me for a password...

once I can get pass this password sorting the corrupt file should be straight forward.

    Any ideas

yes no problem ......... dowshu are one of the most expensive dvrs on the market and used in high security locations so i will pm you the info.

  8. Hello,

I'm looking for a 4-channel DVR, that support Mouse control, Remote view. no price range.

the most important is tobe a very user friendly GUI when we access it remotely (viewing and searching). I looked at AverMedia but their interface is very hard to use when you are online.

    any ideas will be helpful.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

Hi maxnca. you must have been looking at an old avermedia. they all have the same GUI on live screen as over the internet. you have 3 ways of remote viewing with the avers ..... webveiwer / remote console veiwer / imatrix viewer. webviewer is only for quick viewing i.e internet cafe or on a pc that you dont use all the time. remote console is the same GUI as the dvr screen

  9. Hi Kenny. i think this is what you are looking for. took sometime to find it. software.

Those are Hikvision cards, the one Kenny pictured above seems to be nothing like those...

the card is a kane computing and they use the hik software. this is the same card kenny has. i think this is his best bet on getting the card working. only takes an email.

  10. I don't think of myself as being ripped off when I bought this card. I knew it may not work, I may not be able to find the software or the drivers and the seller made no promises or anything of the sort it was sold as is and I understood this. I rolled the dice and took a chance(although it didn't work out)and the 15 bucks didn't break me. What upsets me is guys make smart comments when someone is looking for help. I am on a couple forums and there are guys like this on all of them. That's why I hate to post because I don't want to get kicked off any of the forums I am on when I can't control my fingertips at the key board.

I tend to buy from Apexcctv(1 camera and Avermedia card) and Coastal Video Security(CNB Camera and lense).

I have bought plenty of stuff from ebay, I am an educated buyer and I never spend more than 20 bucks if I am not sure of the product. I am not naive.

    Anyways enough is enough.

  11. There is soooo much junk on ebay, I won't even go there unless I know what I am looking for (and there is still the risk is it fake). What I am looking for is a camera I can incorporate into an outdoor mount on a light pole or stone/brick "monument" acting as a light pole. I can create a pretty decent protected zone inside so the only thing that would be exposed would be the lens, so I am looking for something that can handle that sort of exposure and is decent. Most searches I do end up with a lot of ebay junk, and I don't see much from the big CCTV camera outfits.

Does anyone have suggestions for sources of GOOD quality cameras that are small enough to hide? I'm willing to go to some effort to do the hiding, so it doesn't need to be Mission Impossible, but I'm more concerned with finding quality in a small package. I could go IP or analog. MP would be a plus, but I'm not optimistic that can be found in this package.

    Thanks for your time!
