    Hello i am new at this forum; i just started working as installer.

    My customer's are asking question. i am not technical enough to answer.

    i was hopping you guys might be able to help me

    What is difference between WDR and D-WDR?

    How about performance, are they about same?

    i need to get some data for customer to see, do you have some link i can ref?

    D-WDR - digital WDR.

    the DSP will be Hawk from Nextchip.

    What about new DSP of Sony EFFIO.

    They anouced 650TVL in color and 700TVL in B/W

    Sony effio is great DSP. over 650Color TVL plus WDR and it will use different CCD(ICX662XKA, ICX663XKA) of course, some effio modules will have different CCD. effio is one of the most waited products in 2010. i heard from our R&D it has 3 versions and 3rd version will be the best. we are waiting for it with others. even though it is great, must compare each module with effio.

     

    I Just heard Samsung will show SV-5 - 650Color TVL plus WDR. they will show it at IFSEC show. it is time for us to be busy.... which one will be a winner in a market Effio or SV-5?

    we were in SecuTech Show 2010.

    There was no guests !!! from North and East Europe and US because the volcano eruption in Iceland. it becomes Asian show this time.

     

    anolog - new product 650 resolution by Effio, our 620 Color TVL product, other 600TVL(chipset by Samsung Techwin, CNB, LG, and etc)

     

    NVR - seems same as Japan show 2010

     

    it seems the stand of IFSEC is not filled now cause we have been requested to book a stand till now.

    i also recommend CNB products.

    the two products you are thinking to choose may be good even made in China but when i see the selling price you wrote, they can be poor quality ones.

     

    you should look for high spec like

    Sony 1/3" Super HAD CCD

    540 Color TVL

    ICR

    IR LED over 25pcs (enough for 20m view at night)

    IP66~67

     

    or Brand products such as CNB, KT&C and Taiwanese ones.

    I am a new comer. To my understanding, now most of the camera over specify the figures. i.e. playing the figure game to attract customer. Of course it is not good to the market. Talking about the resolution, we better look into what the solution it is using. Say for example Sony SS11, most of the manufactures claim for 420 tvlines. But, if we look into the SONY specification, it only carries not more than 320 lines. Plus, some of the lines have been used and cannot be seen in the monitor. So, 570 tvlines. who could do that?? I am very curious as the solution which is SONY HQ1. Sony could only achieves arround 520 tvlines by using the SVideo output. 540,530,570 is only a joke.

     

    Sony says 520TVL in tech spec for HQ1, manufacturers say 540,550TVL. it is possbile because this is analogue. Sony products also say 540,550TVL.

    Hi, as a manufacturer would like to say it depends on chip(DSP) maker. for instance the DSPs (W3~W5) from Samsung Techwin are same for Samsung Techwin use and local use. It seems Sony dose same thing.

    When manufacturers say it has 'A' brand DSP, it needs a doublecheck carefully with 'A' brand DSP brochure which can get on website.

    I have to strongly disagree. While chipset will have an effect on the potential quality of a given camera design, there are far more factors that can adversely affect the end product: power supply design, ancillary circuit design, parts selection, production methods, quality control and a whole slew of other factors come into play.

     

    You could have two cameras that employ exactly the same chipset and one could be far superior to the other due to the other's cheap circuitry, shoddy production line and/or poor QC.

     

    That is often the primary difference between high-quality goods and cheapo stuff!

    I disagree, only 2, Sony and Panasonic use the best chip sets,Sony will sell lower grade chips to all other manufactures and keep the good ones. Panasonic holds a patten on chip bonding.

    well, how to identify legit companies from China? It's really a very good question. I saw too much doubts in Alibaba.com forum also.

     

    Don't need to worry about all chinese companies are run by government. Actually 90% thousands of security corporations in China are private companies and most of them are run by chinese. You could find all the foreign world-famous security brands here, too. BEIJING 2008 Olympic use more foreign security products than locals.

     

    we could identify from two directions:

     

    1-Legit for law:

    All companies registered legally in China will have a National Organization Code(NOC). That means who holds a valid code number/certificate is a legit company in law.

    Many people find suppliers who are "Trustpass" membership in Alibaba.com, but they found some companies are still not "legit " enough . That's why I want to say this in another standpoint.

     

    I can say Alibaba "Trustpass" companies are all 100% legit in law, but it doesn't mean they are 100% trust business partners for you. Such risks you will face when you deal with companies from other countries also.

    You need to steer clear of those you don't like to deal with, with your own experiences, risks and understandings. The above tips posting is for this.

     

    It seems Trustpass becomes the major income for alibaba.com. They called me very often to have trustpass. of course, as a private company, it is free to have any kind of activity for income. BUT how the private website gaurantee trustable companies. When something bad happens and they can pay for it, they can get paid for trustpass service.

    Samsung Techwin does not build all there own products, we get are cameras made by the same factory as Samsungtehcwin uses main diferance is price and advertising.

     

     

    Bu Samsung Tehcwin does make good products I was impressed with there 32CH standalone D1 DVR (Great for a standalone)

     

    You are talking about the products from local suppliers for Samsung Techwin but it dose not have brand name.

    If you camera from the factory has same DSP/Samsung techwin uses, it will show same quality. as you said only brand power and advertising are different.
