  1. I see the H3 line going away after the H4 SL line starts to ship next month. H3A and H4 have the same analytics but the H4 has more processing power and better design.

Howdy. I should read this forum more often.

Can you give details about the high framerate mode of the 8MP H4 line? For example, comparing the 8.0-H4A-D1 to the Axis P1428-E, is there any compromise on framerate, and if so, what is it?

I don't know much about the SL, but I'm sure I'm going to be researching that soon enough.

I am having to give up on the H4Pro because I need to use with Synology. I would be able to use ACC except that I need access to the mp4 files saved by Surveillance Station, and it seems that the internal format of ACC is not as open. We don't have time to do the ACC SDK as we have a near-term date looming.

I appreciate all the info, big M!

Wait just now realizing this post is 366 days old not 1.

  2. They are using IVMS right, but we have, just for the purpose of testing added additional software based NVR to the network and camera time stamps are wrong on both NVRs. So the issue is not IVMS but the NTP driven self time stamp on the individual cameras.

Actually, we installed the software NVR just to test if the software will enable us to timestamp on the NVR level, which it did, so pictures have two timestamps one from the camera and one from the NVR.

There are about 60 IP cameras currently up and running in the business and because of a huge price tag connected with the cameras they are not willing to invest into 60 new cameras. They are ready to replace this with any NVR system that will remove time stamping on the camera level and use single timestamp source (the NVR) to avoid any issues in the future.

I am not an expert in CCTV so don't know all NVR brands and models and am trying to help out finding a solution that will work. You have any idea?

    Thx

  3. Hi,

I'm trying to find an IP camera for outside and I live in Canada where the weather reach -30C in the winter. I was interested in the HIKvision DS-2CD2145F-IS but it seems like the lowest operating temp is -10C. Dahua seems to have model that goes down to -30C.

What is your recommendation? What would happen to the camera when it goes below -10C?

    Thank you.

    I am in Canada too

and I have tons of HIK turrets working below -30C

    I am in Alberta

  4. Hi,

Apologies for the delay in responding, I had a family holiday. Installed the 3mp camera in place before I went - all worked well.

Ive returned and upgraded the ACC to laest version, still no luck with the 5mp camera. The 3mp works perfectly, but the 5mp with the very same software version doesnt trigger the recording. All settings the same on both cameras (other than image size).

Does anyone have an other suggestion as to why this may be?

I just had the same problem with 8 mp HIk

    new camera firmware fixed problem

    Hello,

    Hi,

I just want to get other people's advice/views on preschool. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom with my 2-year-old son and I have another bub due next year. All my friends and family who have children have put them in preschool even if they are also a stay at home parent, however, i don't plan on sending my son until he is about 4 years old so the transition to kindergarten is easier.

Do you think preschool is necessary before 4years of age?

    Thanks

Trust me ..... kids start to learn the minute there born.

    Earlier the better for preschool

You don't want your kids on making the mistake of going through the process registering to a CCTV forum to ask about there kids future.

    I hope this helps

  6. Hi,

I am currently running Avigilon ACC version 5 (5.6.2.26). I have a couple of Hkvision cameras attached model DS-2CD2335-I and they are both working fine.

One is running firmware V5.4.23, the other V5.3.3. Both have motion detection configured and either trigger channel (on old firmware) or Trigger recording (on new firmware). These cameras work just fine.

I have now come to add a 5mp version of the same camera (DS-2CD2355-I). It has the same firmware as one of the 3mp versions V5.4.23, I have run through all other settings and they match the same as the 3mp version. But for the life of me I cant get the 5mp version to trigger recording on the AVigilon ACC software.

I cant see any obvious difference in setting or configuration between the 3mp and the 5mp Hikvision cameras, but the 3 works and the 5 doesnt.

Can anyone suggest anything that may help? Perhaps a reflash of the 5mp camera? in which case could someone poin me in the direction of the most appropriate firmware?

Let's start with upgrading ACC to latest version

  7. I just got done assembling a PC to use as an NVR, and was considering the addition of a DVR card to run simultaneously with the IP cameras.

I plan to run a total of 8 IP cameras, but I also happen to have quite a few of older technology cameras (RCA/BNC type) as well, and was considering using them in places that were more prone to damage, or places where I don't need all that much resolution.

What would be a decent quality DVR card that would work with Blue Iris or Milestone, and using PCI-Express slots?

I would only need 4 channels, but wouldn't necessarily be adverse to picking up a card with more channels if having more individual processors for fewer cameras would give me a performance boost on the recording. (I've done some reading on the back posts, and understand that most of these cards have 1 video chip per 4 channels, but since most of these posts are dated to 2010, I couldn't find any of the same brands still in operation. EDIT: Yes, I realize that there is probably good reason for this... )

The main reasons that I'm considering this, is that there are a couple of places where I would be looking at mounting cameras low enough to make them out to be easy vandalism targets and there a couple of places where I was considering a wide angle shot for situational awareness but little else. - In either situation, the older technology should suit.

Please let me know what you think.

    Thanks in advance.

It's probably lot cheaper to buy TVI standalone DVR and use with your Analog cameras

  8. Thanks! I was very optimistic about that application, but, unfortunately, it ended up not helping. I can see every full URL request from iSpy, but it doesn't show anything in terms of requests from the other programs. Any other ideas?

Hello. On a PC at the location of the IP camera type into your search engine, "what is my IP" That should return to you the public IP address which is the address you want to use when you are away from the camera. if that still is not working then you may have to check the router and somehow forward the IP camera port so the connection works both inside and outside the network.

    Nothing personal GadgetA

    but you misunderstand OP request

  9. Hello. Have you tried logging on to your router to check and see if any new local IP addresses have populated the client list? That info along with the right port should work at least locally and that could be a start.

Thanks for the offer to help. That's the thing, I know the IP address and the port with certainty. The CMS software can scan IP addresses, and sees the correct one with the correct port, and connects to it without issue. I can enter that same IP address and port number into vMEyeSuper HD, and it connects beautifully as well. I just need to know what complete URL either the app or the CMS software are using to access the stream since none of the typical ones that I've tried in iSpy are working.

Any other ideas? I'm open to trying pretty much anything to track this down.

    Maybe will help

  10. I have a Dell PowerEdge 2950 with 8GB of RAM, 2x Intel Xeon 5130 2.00GHz processors, Windows Server 2012 R2, PERC 5/i RAID 5 and some external HDs connected for archive.

I am running XProtect Essential 2017 R1 and have 8 cameras connected. The cameras are set to 30fps H.264, 1080p with bit rate of 8192, and are recording all the time. I am not concerned about storage space or network bandwidth, that's why I have them at 30fps and 1080p. When I 'save' a recording and play it back on a client PC, it plays without issue but the live view and playback from the web, mobile, and client is choppy and laggy because the CPU is maxed out. If I disable all cameras except one, there is no issue and the CPU usage is normal.

Please let me know if there are any settings I can tweak to improve the CPU usage.

I disabled motion detection on all cameras and now the CPU usage is around 8-10% or less instead of 100% all the time. I changed the default view from all 8 cameras to 4. The CPU still gets pegged at 100% when I view from the mobile app.

Can u switch motion detection to camera side?

  11. It does seem simple with certain cameras like this one:

This camera has no ethernet input. The only way to connect it is through an app. The only required things are: an app + wifi hotspot (name + password).

Hotspots will be private and owned by landlords, or in some cases we will use 4G mobile hotspots so keeping data usage down is a key concern. That's why we are looking for a wifi ip camera that can, by itself, stream 20 seconds video every 25 minutes.

Our budget is $100 max/camera and the project will be developed in Belgium.

    Thanks for your help!

"That's why we are looking for a wifi ip camera that can, by itself, stream 20 seconds video every 25 minutes"

I am sure the functionality u want has to be server side

meaning u have to develop app for it

  12.

Ok, so maybe I had the wrong version . i tried again. Having trouble finding that exact one. I have 52.0ESR

I still get prompted for the download but after saving and running I never get a login prompt. Maybe has something to do with certificate or secure login settings???

  13. Unfortunately this seems to be a common issue with these DVR's. I also have a crappy chinese ebay DVR, and they are so rampant, that I'm not even sure where to find any DVR's that ARENT chinese. Expecting to be able to communicate with their tech support (if any) is a futile endeavor, and aftermarket software is still something I'm hoping to find. I have a KKMoon DVR and wish I could update the software on it somehow to make it compatible with other browsers besides Internet Explorer. It depends on obsolete junky Active-X plugins and I can't even remote view it with Firefox or Chrome, only terrible IE.

    Firefox Setup 52.0.1esr

    Definitely works

  14. I installed some older 480TVL BNC CCTV cameras about 6 or 7 years ago and I think they all still work (more on that in a minute). What I am looking for is a Tribrid DVR that will support the older cameras but still let me upgrade to newer IP cameras if I so choose.

The frustrating part is that out of the 7yrs I have had the cameras installed, I've had a working DVR for only about 3 of those years. I have gone through 4 DVRs so far, they all have had terrible instructions, cheaply made internals, and web interfaces from the 90's, not to mention having to install some Chinese ActiveX control with admin rights; no telling what else that software is doing. Within a year or two they have each died in some new and mysterious way so I have not had a working DVR for about 3yrs now; I can only guess that the cameras still work. Every now and then I will see the IR LEDs glowing at night so I'm guessing they will work if I connect them to a DVR.

What I am looking for is very simple; I want a Tribrid that has a modern web interface, preferably using HTML5 so that it works in any browser and does not need an ActiveX control, quality electronics that will last longer than a year, at least 4 analog ports for my legacy cameras, 1080P NVR, Onvif IP camera compatible, and supports up to a 6TB SATA HD. Icing on the cake would be at least a 3yr warranty and responsive tech support.

I do not intend to make the system remotely accessible, I am a computer systems security engineer; if only people knew how horrendous the security was for these DVRs they probably would rethink their approach as well. With that being said, the web interface is very important to me, so ideally the web interface is user friendly.

I have been scouring Amazon for days now looking at the options and it seems nothing has changed since the last time I went through this drill; the only choices are bad and worst. If anyone has recommendations for a high quality product that meets some or all of my requirements I would greatly appreciate it. Cost is not an issue, I have no problems paying more for quality.

    Check out Avigilon (avigilon.com)

if u need to support Analog cams they have encoders

  15. Since late March of this year I have not been able to view, backup or search footage for any of my cameras using a web based interface. Before then I never could use Internet Explorer, Google Chrome was hit and miss and Firefox was the only one that I could depend on. Now I believe, due to Mozilla Firefox dropping NPAPI plugin support, I can no longer get to the interface. Opera will not work either.

I have no idea the make and model of the DVR. I cannot find any markings on it but it. When connecting to the IP address It wants to install a webkit plugin made by Shenzhenshi PengAnTai Electronics. I run the exe file and I can see on teh cmd line window that flashes up quickly that it says successful. Hoever I can still not view on any browser. I cant find any contact information for that Chinese company to see if they have a later non NPAPI version.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Get Firefox Setup 52.0.1esr

It is the last ver which still works (support NPAPI plugin )

  16.

Now you have completely changed your issue from the original post. In the op your issue was the camera "load"...

If you have a security concern about the camera why dont you have the same concern about the NVR? its not adding up..

If you have want to completely isolate the traffic you will need a switch and router that support Vlan...

Almost all HIK NVR have 2 NIC cards

    One for cameras

    second for LAN

    and your traffic completely separated

  17. I have a customer asking about having a system installed. The problem is that it is in a mine. He wants 2 cameras on one side of the complex 2 more about 1500 feet away then all four tied into a weight station about 1500 feet away.

My question is can I input the video signal into a point to point wireless internet bridge like a Ubiquiti system. Shoot both signals over to the weight system then into a DVR. then he would like to be able to veiw everything on his phone at home. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Yes,

Ubiquiti radios will easily do what u want
