  5. Set up Geovision GV-NVR computer to send recorded video to a folder on a Synology NAS. ( I am NOT using the Surveillence Station package on the Synology NAS). The files are accessible if I manually go to the NAS (DiskStation Software) and look in the folder. GV-NVR is sending the recorded video to the NAS. When I open the "Video/Audeo Log" window on the GV-NVR software, it shows that there are no events to play back. On the DiskStation software, the folder used to record has read/write access. Can someone help? Thanks

    Anyone using GV-VMS yet?

Mostly cosmetic, but with a few nice features. The main issue is when you load up the system with 30+ cameras, it becomes VERY sluggish and sometimes unresponsive. Seems like it is still a beta product. Maybe the next version will be better.

    Anyone using GV-VMS yet?

You can run VMS with 32 channels for free without a dongle, only using Geovision cameras.

    Anyone using GV-VMS yet?

Tried it out for a few weeks, but had to go back to Multi-Cam. The (new) PC specs exceed the minimum requirements to run VMS, but it seems very buggy. The camera layout and menus are much better. Switching between live view and playback is real easy. Problems encountered: Hangs up when making changes, adding cameras, motion detection tweaking, adding analytics, camera layout changes etc. Any of these changes would cause the PC to stop responding for several seconds, sometimes a minute or two, or require a PC reboot. It became too time consuming to make system changes. Playback with the time line is great, unfortunately is is also VERY laggy and would occasionally take very long to respond or quit responding all together. I loaded VMS on an older i7 PC and it pretty much responded the same way the new PC did. Maybe the next version will work better, but for now, I'll have to stay with Multi-Cam

    Cores

8 cores are available according to the task manager. Both systems are the same as far as cpu and motherboard. Same version of Geovision running on both systems (Version 8.5.9.0). One is DVR-1480 and the other is NVR only. Have not checked the bois yet. Will do tomorrow. Thanks for the suggestions.

    Cores

Running 2 Geovision systems. System #1 is a pc with a Geovision dvr card (1480) and is a mix of analog and IP cameras using 32 channels. System #2 is a pc running Geovision NVR with IP cams only using 32 channels. Both systems have the same hardware. #1 runs great and shows that it is using 8 cpu cores in Task Manager. #2 is a little sluggish and shows that it is using only 4 cpu cores in Task Manager. Is there a way to get pc #2 to use all 8 cores? Thanks. Paul

Add Hikvision IP PTZ to GV-NVR

Would like to add a PTZ IP cam to my GV-NVR. The Geovision ones are a little pricey. What would it take to add this: Hikvision 368X Outdoor IR Night Vision High Speed PTZ IP Network Dome Camera http://www.ebay.com/itm/Hikvision-368X-Outdoor-IR-Night-Vision-High-Speed-PTZ-IP-Network-Dome-Camera-/151422896832?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2341820ac0 to my existing GV-NVR and get it to work? Do I need to purchase this along with the camera: Genuine Geovision 1 Channel GV-NVR Software (USB Dongle) for 3rd Party IP Camera http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Geovision-1-Channel-GV-NVR-Software-USB-Dongle-for-3rd-Party-IP-Camera-/360257871941 or will it work without the dongle. Thanks.

    GV-AView on AT&T 4G

This post is in addition to this thread: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=31659 but specifically for AT&T's 4G network. Has anyone out there in the U.S. been able to get GV-AView to work on AT&T's 4G network? Tried to get it to work on the Samsung S3 and Samsung Note and a few other AT&T 4G phones to no avail. Contacted AT&T's tech support, they say it is Geovisions app. that does not work. Contacted Geovision, and they say it is AT&T's problem. Go figure! Any feedback would appreciated. Paul

Need help with gaps in recording

Sounds like you are exceeding the thruput capacity of your hard drives. If that is the case, then you will need to split up your storage to two of more NAS boxes. Geovision has a document somewhere that tells you how many cameras you can connect to a hard drive, I just cannot locate it right now.
