Geovision states: "To use the recording resolution of 640 x 480 or above, Pentium 4 processor with Hyper-Threading is required."I have not seen this mentioned by anyone.....
Do you have a link for that? Im using an AMD 2.0Ghz with a Via Chipset for my GV250 and no issues at 720x480 or 640x480.

So now we have a choice.
CM-2 or E-FM1, which is better?
Has anyone tried both? Price difference?
I know that the CM-2 does more than just focus.
-
Everfocus EN220.
Nice size screen and the straps works well but a little hard to see in sunlight.
I'm thinking about the CM-2; depending on the cost.

How can I sniff my own packets?
How come when you sniff your own packets they don't smell so bad?

Jasper, if your router has WPA or WPA2, that is what you would use for encryption.

I went through the demo and saw the same motion artifacts. It honestly did not look as good as a correctly set up Geo or Aver system.Well, VJD this is a thread in the Stand Alone Embedded section of this forum. We are not trying to compare to GEO or Avermedia(Totally different world). And look at the cost of a Realtime Geo or Aver DVR with Audio on every channel, comperable in specs, not even close. So having that said, I would like someone to post a clip of a StandAlone DVR or comparison to a S/A DVR that looks better than this unit. I honestly have not seen one, Especially for the money.
Hey Kand, I like the way you selectively quoted me. What happened to the next sentence where I said "Now if you are comparing it to other stand alones..."?

CM-2
in Test Bench
Hey VMan, thanks for the review!
I am familiar with the CM-1. Is the CM-2 a newer model? Different features?
What was the cost?
-
Thanks for the honest informed post. This DVR can't be everything to everybody( nor can any dvr being marketed today) but the arguement stands that for the money it is one of the best overall, high performance, advanced feature, and stable dvr 's that we've ever sold. You can't ask for much more than that in todays market. You are welcome. And thanks for the responsive sales pitch.

Now if you are comparing it to other stand alones that are out there, then I would say it compares favorably. Feature wise it is very impressive.

Green again. And no, I am not in the UK
The clip you posted before this was pretty good. All the others were plagued with motion artifacts.
-

In the past, a former mod gave members access to the Dealers Only forum that weren't actually dealers. I think this is one of the reasons why that forum is not utilized more. Legitimate dealers will not want to post topics there that are not meant for public consumption.
Will this forum ever be audited for proper qualifications?

sf1964, have you checked out playback quality yet?

Kand,
Are you working for IC Realtime now? I'm confused....
-
kand, which card is being used for the 16 port demo?
-
Thanks for the warning Rory.
Which outdoor housings do you like and recommend?
I have seen outdoor housings with heaters and blowers for $50. Are they crap? How much do you need to spend for a decent one?
-
I can't find any of the models that you listed in your post
-
What is he going to use it for?
-
Sorry I missed you Herm. Did you get my message?
-

I finally had my first hard drive failure on a customers DVR. I'm wondering what kind of lifespan you guys have been experiencing?
This one (DVMRE-10CT) lasted about 26 months.

A lot of companies like this have been popping up lately:

I received a postcard in the mail that had a picture of a Tombstone with "DVR RIP 2005" etched on it.
Upgrade my Geovision Card? What is everyone else doing?

Please elaborate on the higher quality of 7.04 and issues with 720x480 comments. I assume they are related.
