    Help for Camp please

hello ken, this has been one heck of a problem for you huh, sorry about that. i do not think that the recording is stopping the unit from sending the video over the network. i have two siggestions for you. try and take the chasis apart and reseat every thing you can. just be careful..i would deffinatley reseat the nic card and anyother drivers that you can. the next step if you have the original software i would dump the os from the unit and reapply the software. there is something fishy about that unit. good luck and let me know.. E.J.
  2. well, when i read the manual it stated that there was a specific range type of camera that would work on coaxitron. sorry if i was wrong.. just trying to help but if you already have these cams working in the field then try moving this camera to a location that you already know works and try it there. maybe the back box board has an issue or maybe its the ptz itself. good luck mate.

    Help for Camp please

have you placed the port setting in the software on your laptop or the remote viewer also to 50000. also. you may want to call the tech support for the DVR and ask them if there is a firmware upgrade that needs to be done in order to move from the four to the eight , they may not have placed the proper information in the manual. that happens alot. is the laptop your using configured for the ip range that the DVR is using? also you may want to check that the firmware version from the DVR and the remote viewer are the same. If you have aready done all this then sorry to waste your time reading. curious little problem your having that is for sure.

i just read the manual for the DVR. in chapter 6 it shows multiple set ups for independant situations.. which case letter did you set your paricular setup under. this will be helpful information..is the port on your laptop also set up as 50000...are you logged in as admin on your laptop? is the ip of the laptop in the same range of the dvr?if you dont wish to answer the questions then I understand it gets tiresome..im just trying to make sense of it all. you said it worked under the previous setup for a while.I dont suppose you can use restore points on your laptop to bring it back to that period of time when it was working can you? if you do take that step then be sure to back up all current files and folders before doing so.

sorry, i was hoping it was gonna be simple..what kind of DVR and soft ware are you running, does the dvr have a monitor output on it and if so do you recieve pics locally at the unit? im sure you have done this already but have you checked the video prior to it entering the DVR for assurance the pics are there? some DVR's require that you activate the port the camera is going into..you sound pretty knowledgable so im sure you have done all this. just trying to get a feel for what has and has not been done yet. i would really like to see this work for you. good luck.
  8. the old saying is you get what you pay for.., also ir is only good on b/w camera's and some high end limited color cams.. if distance is not an issue then cheap may work just learn about nano meters also know the lux ability of your camera's when ordering ir.

hello there, not to throw a rench your way, but call your ISP provider and ask weather or not the ip address that is given to your system is static or dynamic ranging. my guess is that you have a dynamic ranging ip address unless you are a buisness..thus you cant connect to the dvr since the ip never stays the same to the outside world. you have done all the correct work on the router side.if you do have a static ip then ask them for the ip, gateway, subnet, and DNS 1 and DNS 2. i think your problem lies here. good luck
  10. from what i have looked up on your camera and controller, they do not appear to be compatable in a coaxitron senario, run another line to the camera and use the rs 485 lines and hook them into the proper pin out on the back of the controller. utilize the manuals that came with both products to configure properly...if you no longer have the manuals look them up on line thru a search engine.. good luck...do you already have the same type of camera running through coaxitron on your system?

Elbex EXS142 BNC to F Connector

the answer to your question is multi layered,, if the switcher is for video only then you should be fine placing the bnc to F connector. However if you see any signal degradation then you must remember the hertz difference between cctv video and tv video. on a short run from the switcher to the tv you should be fine. as for programing the switcher if the switcher is for multiple system inputs and requires the channel from the switcher to have a specific channel, then yes you will need to program that unit. not sure on the product model you placed. so i take it you do not use cable on the tv you are placing this on..shoudnt matter weather or not its lcd or not. good luck
