I have been passing E-mails back and forth with AverMedia tonight for a light problem that I had with one of their cards, got that fixed, the interesting thing is that the Rep, a Grace Chang, provided me with a White sheet for the new products that they are coming out with, and that they should appear by the end of January, 2005. I'll post the link for the doc when I upload the file to one of my servers.

I have an eight camera card that I was never able to see beyond the first four cameras remotely. Wasted a ton of time on the problem and never figured it out.

The new software revision solved almost all of the problems, I have a MP5004, and it works perfectly, great picture too.

(I'm NOT endorsing AverMedia, just sharing my personal Experience)

What does "almost" mean? Are you still having some problems?

I'm having a small issue with the remote viewer, but other than that everything is A+

Only thing that I personally have is the ugly GUI, plus let me tell you, I have mentioned in an earlier post that I had a company burn me out with a ton of DVR cards, and that I was looking for the software, well, it turns out that AVermedia manufactured the cards OEM for the company that burned me out, and they are willing to replace the eeprom data on all the cards, and send them all back to me with warranty to the end-user as if they where bought new, and they are doing it for mid "2" digit price per board. That says a lot about a company when they are willing to go the extra mile with you, expecially when they are in no way liable for anything.

I'm guessing it's going to be quite a long 'short list' for that award.

Maybe we should start an annual awards ceremony?

Most creative use of camera sensitivity ratings?

CCTV cameras offering the best new years resolutions?

Best English operating instructions, written in a foreign language?

Sorry guys, too much saki, I think I'm turning Japanese .....
