Recommended Posts

Hi...

I'm wondering when should we use IR dome & bullet IR camera.

Is IR dome weatherproof & can be use for outdoor surveillance?

Thanks!

I prefer many times vandal proof IR dome 3-axis with IP66 and heater like the V2815PVR from CNB!

yes separate is good, but if you dont have that option any cam that separates the IR and the camera lens is a good thing, even the dual lens dome or bullets are ok.

My choice between integrated IR Dome or Bullet, bullet by far. Longer Distance IR in most cases and better image typically - BUT, big BUT, has to be a TRUE day night camera, both of them. Some places you have no choice but to use a vandal dome though.

Why do ir integrated bullets throw longer ir than ir domes? Is it the natural characteristics or is it determined by design?

Hay blake I asked the same sort of thing I think im going to go with dome on the front. As I dont think it will stand out to much and bullets at side and back. but may end up all dome's. As there going to be harder to remove I would think but I may be wrong

I'm pretty sure the polycarbonate domes block a certain amount of the IR.

I likewise vote for separate illuminators with dome cameras.

The shape of the dome brakes the light beams differently...

Hi guys, thanks for the replies.

I'm still confused over the 2 cameras as above. Which is a better choice of IR camera?

If my customer wants to use IR camera as it is for day & night use, which one should I recommend to them? Can the IR dome be used outdoor?

Thanks again!

Actually its the type of IR LED that is used, you will notice the larger bullets

have a different type of LED inside higher powered. Most of the domes have

5mm LEDs.

I usually dont like Domes and IR it has to be done well to work. Im starting to like the the IR & dual lens domes tho.
