I am working with a company that has a large demand for a system like this and I am looking at the options that are out there. Right now they are using http://www.saysecurity.com/ and are looking into http://www.aventuratechnologies.com/default.asp. I am open to all options and I want to see what is out there. The SAY mobile have some nice features but it seems like everything is in beta and we need stuff that is going to work. They have a hosted solution that lets you log into the mobile DVRs and view the live video and track the cars on a Google map interface. Our h.264 mobile is fairly new and we are working on porting the full feature set of our old MPEG4 Mobile to the new hardware. This will give the appearance of "beta". We expect to have everything done in the next 6 weeks or so. We are adding new features every week. A new easier to use interface as well as geofencing is being added this week to Mobilelink (our real time vehicle tracking and video streaming DVR web software). I believe personal phones can be used if the personal cell/mobile phone is known. Otherwise, I suppose that the vehicle would have to be 'tagged' with a GPS emitter and then that signal would somehow have to be recognised by a satellite which would then pin-point its location. The tracker passively receives the satellite signals and calculates its position internally... that information can then either be logged for later retrieval, and/or transmitted real-time or at intervals by GPRS, GSM, WiFi, or any other common wireless technology. There are a bunch of small motorcycle trackers on the market that could be used, I think they have a GSM sim in them that reports it's position to a server and then you log on there to view the location. sinbad 0 Posted March 18, 2012 its a regular standalone 4ch with standard hdd inside. http://www.geovision.com.tw/english/Prod_GVCompactV34ch.asp I have the older version. the GUI is very basic but it has monitor out vga/bnc and can accept their GPS module. what I like about it most is that you can use multiview/viewlog to view recording. Here's the link: http://www.gadspot.com/p-315-gs3000cdr.aspx I've only used it for about a week. The quality is pretty good, though I wish the night time video would be better. It looks like what you're looking for. It has GPS mapping and also records your speed. It claims to be 5 megapixels and plays 1080p. I haven't compared it with other brands or models, but I'm quite satisfied with this one.
