Hi Guys first time using the forum. Can anybody give me some feedback on the new Avermedia NV7000 DVR. How does it compare to say Geovision or others Would appreciate your expertise.

Aver is not a bad product, but, the best term to use us that the software is too simple, and too loose. The problem with Avermedia is that they actually OEM their cards to other manufacturers. So their main focus is that of creating quality cards, but their software can be very frustraiting to work with. If you already have one, then test it out, and I saw your post about the POS integration. You don't want this card, go with a Geo or I-view, kodicomm I have not seen in action with a POS for me to either bash it or recommend it.

We were looking at the Avermedia NV7000 card in the Ifsec show this week & have ordered one to test.

The picture quality is stunning (this has always been an Aver +) the software we are going to test.

Will let you know how we get on.

Very nice pic quality baywatch. What resolution can you record with avermedia? Im guessing you've got broaddband, whats the upload speed? video seems very slow compared to a geovision

hmmm, not bad, (OEMs with no IR cut filters?)

Only thing, I had to manually download a set up program, then view it in IE .. as it wouldnt download automatically an activeX. With that I may as well just download the windows software and use something moe powerful ..?
