jxk716 0 Posted March 29, 2011 An out of town law enforcement friend of mine is looking for some advice on a wireless covert camera to cover the foot traffic in and out of a house. This would basically take the place of a steak-out. Here are some requirements: Right now there is no budget, just ideas -the camera needs to be hidden in perhaps nearby bushes or near a neighbor's garbage containers looking at the front door about 25 to 50 feet away so some type of zoom lens -on board recording would help unless there is a way to send the video signal wireless about 500 feet away to a recorder - there is no option to set up a camera on this property where a recorder can go. -8 hours worth of motion recorded footage would be needed to review, off load footage and set up again -Camera view quality - good enough to pick up individual characteristics like clothing or car types stopping by - we understand night time will be tough so facial recognition is not required.
