Vivotek IP8162 - jittery, choppy video

Recommended Posts

Hello

I'm making some comparison between "supreme low lux" cameras to check how low is this lowlux

One of them is Vivotek IP8162. I have huge problem with it when there is a noise on scene - video is getting choppy, jittery, looses frames, huge delay.

It seams that it happens when I set this cam to Variable Bit Rate and excellent quality. Lowering fps, and setting GOP to 1 second (:/) make it little bit better, but still it doesn't look good.

Just look for yourself:

Any one had this cam? Is it normal for this model?

This is the best that Vivotek has to offer, how can it be bad? Hahahaha.

Here's my review of it. I don't have a video since I started doing that after this camera review, but I do comment on the dropped frames. The owner of the camera spent quite a while with their support and updating firmware after firmware without any luck.

One could blame the network, but when I tested the camera, I wrote directly to internal SD card, class 10, video never left the camera. It's a Vivotek, they have some the best camera brochures on the market.
