[ASK] Setting Remote View on AVTECH DVR KPD674B

Recommended Posts

Hello guys,

i have the problem about the setting for remote view.

Here is the list of my device info :

AVTECH DVR KPD674B (192.168.1.252, port 8080)

D-LINK Modem DSL-526B (192.168.1.1)

Dynamic IP Public : 36.73.XXX.XXX (Change everytime my device turn off then turned on again)

I already setting port forwarding on my modem using this configuration :

Custom Server Name : DVR

External Port Start : 8080

External Port End : 8080

Protocol : TCP

Internal Port Start : 8080

Internal Port End : 8080

Server IP Address : 192.168.1.252

With this setting with firefox browser :

I type the address 192.168.1.252:8080, i can access the web login for my CCTV, and i can login to it.

when i type 36.73.XXX.XXX:8080, i get the page "Unable to connect" on my firefox browser.

when i type 36.73.XXX.XXX (without the port), i can view my modem Login page.

I try to access with EagleEyes on my Blackberry, using 36.73.XXX.XXX port 8080, it always ended up Connection Failed

I double checked with http://www.canyouseeme.org/, and checked my port 8080, it get the message success and my ISP not blocking this port

Anyone can help me with this problem ? is there something that i miss ?

Most likely you only opened the HTTP port, see if there are any other ports you need to open for the server/data/command.

i dont quite understand, what other ports that i need to open ?

because in the configuration of my DVR AVTECH KPD674B, which is contain port number is only for HTTP port and i set that to 8080. i don't see any other ports (server/data/command) configuration on my AVTECH DVR.

Please could you give me any advice ?

Some DVRs have multiple ports to open, LTS DVR have http port and server port (80 and 6036) , Geovision has like 3-4 ports for http, data, mobile, control...etc. dahua has http and server ports to open (80 and 37777) so that's why I thought your AVtech would also have something similar. But after looking at the user manual you are right only one port shows up under Network.

When you used your external IP in your phone, were you connected to the wifi or your cell service?

Since you said there's no other ports to configure, its possible your router does not support using external IP while locally. Could you try having a friend at another location (or if you can get to another location like a work computer) and type in your 36.73.XXX.XXX:8080 into IE and see if it brings up your dvr?

Yes, the user manual of my AVTECH didn't give much information about network configuration, but i try searching and searching, about the port, i only found 1 port need to configure and that is HTTP Port i think, because the default number port are 80.

i'm testing my external IP, with my laptop and my blackberry device :

1. when i entering external IP with my laptop, using firefox browser, without the port, i can access my DSL Router

2. when i entering external IP with my laptop, using firefox browser, with the port 8080, it's said unable to connect on my browser page

3. when i entering external IP with my blackberry, using eagleeyes software, with my cell service (not using wifi), it's said connection failed

Yes you are right, i ask my friend at other location to open 36.73.XXX.XXX:8080 it brings up my DVR.

you said that my router does not support using external IP while locally, is there something configuration that i need to configure, so that i can use my external IP while locally ?

Why would you want to try and use remote access when on the network?

because i just want to test out about my DVR, is it accessable or not.

Because i test it using eagle eyes software on blackberry, and it turns out connection failed, but when i using the blackberry browser to browse the IP address, i can log in, but i cannot navigate other channel of my camera, it shows only camera 1.

could you give me advice about my problem, because i cannot access my DVR via eagle eyes software
