High end Help Please

Recommended Posts

I work in the IT field and would like advice on installing a high end security system. What would be the best type of wireless CCT DVR system that I could setup. I was looking at something called the X10 series but I am not to sure if that a good idea.

Uhm, X10------CHEAP

Go here and see what we offer.

http://www.shscomputers.com/catalog

look around the site, and tell us what you are looking to do.

good cameras start around $150.00 anywhere, those X10 cameras are Cmos sensors, the same ones that logitech uses for their webcams. You want cameras that have CCD sensors on them.

more to come.

yep, X-10 is not CCTV, very cheap stuff that you are lucky if it works.

Most high end cameras go for around $300+ retail. Plus the lens and housing.

good wireless can get expensive, there is someone else on here who just made one.

You will need a TX for each camera, and a reciever. Also need a good antenna/yaggi, solar if you will not have any power. If you have power, you may as well try to get video cable back to the system one time for best quality video. If you can, if not, check out www.videotransmitters.com (VideoComm), good Wireless products, not cheap though. They have some good tech support if you need design help.

Trango has some good long range, like for PTZ 12 miles, etc.

www.trangosys.com

Is it long range, short, where will the cameras be going, seeing, day/night, PTZ? etc.

Extreme hmake specialised hard core products, they are famous for harsh condition cameras, they seem to make very sturdy gear!

Do you have fibre already running through the site that you wish to run cameras on?

Thanks, I need to install six cameras around the perimeter of the house. Can you recommend any reputable CCTV dealer.

You won't be able to run 6 wireless cameras, not enough open frequencies.

I don't know what your budget will be but Extreme CCTV is very expensive.

Mainly used in very high end applications. Plan on wiring to the cameras and you'll be able to use a wider range of lower cost but quality cameras.

Where are you located?

I got a quote and you are right they are expensive. I need a good wired CCTV 0 lux camera and a reseller in NJ would be nice any suggestions.

the best 0 lux cameras i have seen/used are Extreme, but expensive. But if you want a 0 lux camera that will see far in pitch dark, and is built for it, and will last, they are worth it. I have a line of them on an ocean property here, 1 and 1/2 years now, through storms, etc, no issues at all.

If you want to save some money, you could check out Provideo's day/night bullet cameras, and they have a IR Camera that is BW up to 150', claimed, never tested. Price on that model is still only a little less than the Extreme one. Bullets are much cheaper though.
