IR or no IR in rooms with black light lighting

Recommended Posts

A customer purchased a system from a catalog/online. Now he's disappointed with the pictures and dvr and has asked us to,replace the system.

It's an indoor entertainment place that uses black light or ultraviolet lighting. So, anyone know whether I should use IR illumination or cameras without IR

Thanks,

Chaz

You need to test everything you do before putting a whole system in...

if you want to know if an IR light will be effective, take one and throw it in there, see what happens

if the camera's do not have an IR function it won't work though.

Yes I would only replace one cam to test what the picture looks like but was hoping someone has come across this in the past so I know which type camera to try first but it is only ten minutes to swap out the camera and see what it looks like

Hey Chaz, I think you should use IR illumination. If you go for cameras, you will need to illuminate the place with an additional source, but using and IR illuminator would give you the benefits of improved picture and video clarity at night without the need of additional source of illumination. Also, it will work efficiently in all weathers even.
