Recommended Posts

need help,

I got a install price of 1400 with 4 cameras and the spec are below. I am curious if I am getting my eyes poked.

4 700 tvl 65IR outdoor dome cams

1/3 image sensor

built in OSD

1 preamp mic

all wires and cables included

4 ch 960h H.264 dvr hdmi out

built in motion detection and scheduled recording

two way audio streaming

remote access for viewing

supports 4tb however comes with 1tb.

asked for detailed bill and 700 is for install, 180 for Network Tie in for remote viewing DVR and registering my domain for a year at 75 bucks.

Any thoughts?

Network and DDNS service you can do yourself

Main question to ask is why 700tvl with a 960h dvr

Use the money you save on doing network setup on 960h cameras

$180 one time and $75 a year is kinda bad for something that is free...just tell them you know how to do it and waive the fee.

So, 700 tvl cameras lose quality if only using a 960 dvr? I won't lose quality of picture if I went with 960h because it's capped at the dvr? Do they make a 720p dvr and if so, would the money be too much considering the "marginal" difference? Thanks for your help!

Parts alone is anywhere from $350-$500, so he isn't marking you up much on the parts.

Do you think its worth $700 to run 4 cables?
