Axis P1344 vs. Bosch LTC0495

Recommended Posts

Trying to make this a somewhat fair comparison. All lighting a 23W fluorescent flood.

Bosch sense up turned off, gain at 20dB.

Axis set to 1/60 sec. Two pics one with gain at 21dB, one at 35dB.

Both lenses f1.0.

Don't know how to post full res pics so just doing screen shots. I'd love to see an Arecont or Mobotix against a known analog cam with the settings specified.

Actually I keep them both on, the P1344 is so good at capturing motion and detail during the day but the LTC0495 is really good at getting wildlife at night.

Thanks for the comparisons. I have a 1344 at the office but haven't messed around with it yet. I also have 3 different 8 series Vivotek cameras I received this past week as well as a 3mp Arecont camera.

At some point I'll put out my tried and true Pano CP484 against these to see how they compare.

I'll look forward to that, I keep pondering both of those...

Yea, bosch is really good at night application, but LTC 0495 is almoust one year EOL. Successor is LTC 0498.

If possible try also Panasonic WV-SP306 ... 1280x960 resolution = will beat Axis defenetly at night. We use them for car plate recognition systems (ofcouse with additional IR) but it is the best sensative megapixel camera I ever seen.

Looks pretty good, Axis is spec'd at 1/6s. Panasonic is at 1/30s, does not spec the IRE (although min illumination might be 30IRE) nor the amount of AGC. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Nothing wrong with a camera that is a year or so past EOL. They can be found dirt cheap, usually $100 new in box. I got a bunch of 498s, but will always buy a skid or two of 495s when they come up.

1/60th sec is probably a little unfair on the axis as thats rather fast.

The P1354 is now also out.

EDIT: Wow, just realised how old this is.. sorry.
