No your recorder is over 13 years only ….. its an early dahua and only D1 you would have to check camera spec and see if standard analog is one of its formats ahd is a digital format along with cvi and tvi
-
Yes it’s going backwards D1 analog is your recorder ….. 720p will not work there analog hd what I mean on going backwards is replace your 13 year old recorder first …. A 4 in 1 dvr will run your existing cameras and also replace your damaged cameras over time with new HD Recorders are cheap and so are HD analog cameras

Lorex System Compatibility with Older Camera
tomcctv replied to Notifier's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. There spec is misleading for that recorder it does state CVBS ….. which allows you to use standard analog cameras BUT the spec also has a disclaimer at the bottom…… only compatible with analog HD ……. Which is CVI or TVI…….. so no point having CVBS in the spec which is bad sales and misleading so your system will only use cvi tvi ahd cameras from 2mp upwards -
Hi. Seems like a waste of money going backwards that q-see is 13 years old do you have cameras on your system now ?

DVR Compatibility with Samsung SDC-7340BCN Camera
tomcctv replied to mrnvgtr's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi any dvr which states 4 in 1 will run your cameras I would say remove 1 that you don’t need as most DVRs now are either 4-8-16-32 way so use 8 cameras with 8 way recorder -
Hi. Stevee You might find it’s not the hard drive. The fan on top of cpu. Might be on its way out Are you using the explorer app ? yes your right for the cost of a new hard drive for a bit more you can get a new recorder

Hi. That is silly money was there any requirements to for cameras with long range ? And are cameras local to house …… 2.5 to 3 must of included a ptz camera not that far from me then York
-
Hi. That is a high budget you will get change from that if installing yourself then I would go for an iP camera system with a nvr ….. cable provides power and the data all in one so no power supplies to bother about plus if you have a camera you can’t get cable to the location but power there you can use power adapters how far north are you.

Hi. I have come across this many times in uk finding a pro is none existent and if you find a spark to quote you they will hide the spec and the reason is they buy there kit from eBay and the likes and 9 times out of 10 it will be cheap hikvision with a massive markup yes your right always look for expansion when installing saves money later can you install yourself as most systems are now plug and play what is your budget
-
Hi. Ok …. You are best not with 4K and going to 2 or 4 megapixel as 4K ptz will use up your hard drive quick how built up is the area around your home uk does have laws on ptz usage 2mp ptz allows viewing objects 2 mile away with a good zoom so I don’t think you want a big dome ptz

Hi. That’s a P2P baby monitor that uses a server to operate…… so you have no control over its network $10 cameras are pointless as security -

Cant get more than 8 cameras working on 16ch DVR

Hi. Your problem is going covert in a apartment complex….. tenants will class it as spying…. Don’t know we’re your based but most places it is classed as illegal so your best looking at the regulations for cctv in your area …….. illegal cctv will not help you collect evidence as it can’t be used always stay legal with cctv or it could come back to bit you you will be better talking with the other people on the complex and also the owner of the complex to install cctv from your other posts ….. installing camera and IR at an other location you need to make sure camera is compatible for IR or it won’t work as far as your camera range you need to look at varifocal cameras
