Cat5e cable converted from com cable
tomcctv replied to egnuol's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
All of the cable it twisted and should be cat5 24 agw at the least ....... you can ask as many times as you like about telecom cable it does not work ...... or we wouldn’t need cat5 now your camera .... it’s Wi-Fi ..... that’s wireless anyway ... does it not reach ? another option is network plugs ...... not network cable needed as long as both areas are powered from the same display ....... and use a switch at camera end of more than 1 camera used ...... also saves using another router https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.tp-link.com/uk/powerline-adapter/ -
Hi. Lar Some post can be mist also some problems on old equipment might just be best replacing. your problem could be a number of things constant beeping is usually down to no input from camera to dvr .... which points to faulty camera power supply not the dvr or dvr software has a problem and can’t load ... there is no fix for this problem ...... installed 8 years ago could also mean dvr is older 10 or 15 years old and not worth trying to fix i would look at camera power supply first

tomcctv replied to TheKingsrow's topic in Video Transmission/Control Devices
Hi. What you have is a balun rack with power i took some out over 12 years ago ..... you could call it the start of the cctv balun time you only have part of the system (the S means power) and you also need 16 power baluns. Or UTP Samsung cameras with cameras now analog HD they will not run on that system -
Hi. Sounds like telecom cable you have but what are you using it for ? Wifi cameras don’t need cat5 only power.

How does IP Pro / EseeCloud get around firewall?
tomcctv replied to Chilliwack's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi. The industry is filling up with SMART cctv 3rd party involvement to run smart is nothing like a real cctv system if most people read terms and conditions they would not touch the system. here are a few Turn on microphone recording and voice We need access to your device's microphone. We do not collect or store the requested data and can only be accessed through the camera or receiver. why would anyone let anyone else listen in to there system Get your location: approximate location (based on network),precise location (based on GPS and network) We need to request by calling GPS to analyze the mobile device location with the network; 9) control the positioning update We need to request a location update on a mobile device that is moving over the network; why would anyone allow a 3rd company to track your cellphone which tracks you and your personal life ..... with buying a cctv system you hand over your cell security before you had that system ...... you had a private life now you have the system a stranger can hear watch and track you money well spent -
Hi Mike ...... since RobinS was not helpful at all this is a window and graphics card setup problem. when you first setup the monitors view on windows then save it like you have done all is good with 2x2 display however single full screen view changes the resolution and puts to main monitor quick fix is setup again but with full screen and not 2x2 then save

Night Owl 1080p DVR with Lorex LW4211 1080p camera
tomcctv replied to ccryan2000's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. For $99 I would swap out your recorder..... instead of it being a wasting money exercise it turns into a $99 upgrade. this recorder does all formats including 1 IP camera making it a 9 channel....... the ip camera can be anywhere in the world but record on your recorder it also uses the SuperLive pro app which is one of the best apps with full control of dvr https://www.amazon.com/HDVD-Digital-Recorder-Auto-Detect-Security/dp/B079H33GZX?ref_=ast_sto_dp -
Night Owl 1080p DVR with Lorex LW4211 1080p camera
tomcctv replied to ccryan2000's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi yes there is but the cost is twice and more of a new dvr ..... plus your lorex camera would loose the audio side ... so not wort the $300 or $400 cost. we’re are you based -
Night Owl 1080p DVR with Lorex LW4211 1080p camera
tomcctv replied to ccryan2000's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. Your dvr is a different format to your camera dvr is AHD your lorex is cvi so not comparable either buy another AHD camera and loose the cost of the lorex (as it’s now used) or replace your recorder which are now cheap 4 in 1 analog HD covers all analog formats so you can use your existing cameras and your lorex ...... standard analog -cvi- tvi - ahd plus it gives your more upgrade options best on the market at the moment is a TVT dvr but dahua also does one -
Hi. Everything is included

Happy new year to you as well. the power supply in your new picture is again a low amp unit ..... in fact it is a power supply for a alarm system with battery backup the type used for PIR sensors and is unregulated ... regulated is for cctv also what is the distance from recorder to camera with problem
-
Hi With power supplies amps are the factor I don’t know what amp yours is...... the one I listed is 10 amp the power supply in your pictures is only 4 amp and is running 5 cameras working on 1 amp per camera your under powered plus you need a little extra ..... if a number of cameras switch to night at same time you need to cover for the surge I would buy the one in the link and replace the one in your pictures

Dahua Mobile Software Options
tomcctv replied to rnassar's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. DMSS is the newest ...... it had a update a few days ago GDMSS is old with no more updates it ended 2019 -
Hi. You don’t have a IP system it is analog only this sounds like a power problem .... that camera will change its power draw when it’s goes to night mode ....... it needs more power with IR so will not run if not enough looking at your pictures there are a few issues first that power supply is too small I would invest in a good power supply second is your baluns you should only use 1 pair for video not two like in your pictures Using two pairs will interfere with image quality and stop your baluns preforming properly But your first step is a better power supply 4amp is not enough ...... something like this is much better https://www.amazon.com/Ares-Vision-CCTV-Power-Supply/dp/B07BN6C2GC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=cctv+power+supply&qid=1609343646&sprefix=cctv+power&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEyTVAzOU9IREdVVVNRJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMDk0MzQ1MlNMUjVQVEtHRkJJWCZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTQ3NzYxM1VHSzBLMzY3WFRUNCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX3Bob25lX3NlYXJjaF9hdGYmYWN0aW9uPWNsaWNrUmVkaXJlY3QmZG9Ob3RMb2dDbGljaz10cnVl

Help please - Hikvision DVR choice...
tomcctv replied to chiggy123's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. Reading the specs is like going back 5 years also don’t get caught up in facial recognition because it’s not ........it will save yours and family and friends and store that image and will alert you next time it sees your face...... a bit pointless since you live there. A intruder only visits your house once so no recognition......... it’s the video that’s important which is another issue with your two links they are both very limited systems the 4 way only takes 1 x 8mp camera at 8fps. Other brands are 20 to 30fps at 4K but yes your right there seams to be no difference with specs but that’s hikvision for you -
NVR/IPC issues
tomcctv replied to Outback_jack's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Always record with 80 cameras is going to limit the nvr ..... the spec does not give any information on recording limits but does say 12mp each channel..... which is a bit of bull playback is only 4 channel at 12mp which is an indication of its limits. with a 80 channel unit changing settings can be time consuming a few hours just on setting up motion ..... but this is what I would do set all cameras to motion only lower FPS on each camera reduce resolution on each camera to 720 run the system for a few hours like that and see if you still have the problem if not reset cameras to 4cif try again see how it does once it starts to get better I would then start increasing the resolution on important cameras entry exit / cash area's -
Not sure which camera to acquire for my business
tomcctv replied to VanillaH's topic in System Design
Think you need to do a lot of homework first it is illegal what you want to do collecting and storing a persons bank detail with out permission and with covert camera and audio is illegal building your own data capture server for personal information is also illegal you need to read up on GDPR not only for your company but for the other 20 outlets your going to put at risk of the law -
NVR/IPC issues
tomcctv replied to Outback_jack's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. 80 channel nvrs don’t work plus unreliable for a security system ..... nvr problem 80 cams down looking at the nvr spec you might have to do a lot of tweaking with managing the system are you using motion settings what resolution are your cameras what storage do you have and are your cameras h264 or h265 are you using both network ports for cameras -
