"Best" value ip cameras?
tomcctv replied to Hello5's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Wow eBay with a bigger margin than wholesale plus secondhand. 4k new is only £45 .... 5mp with audio is £29 all new with 2 years warranty ... cameras much better than hikvision. now your post starts off Best value yet your going the expensive way buy the time you buy 4 x. SD 10 cards you could of bought a nvr ...... also going SD only with 4mp cameras is not much storage .... useless if going away for a few days 1 or 2 then you have extra cost of POE switch ( don’t buy second hand) now like I said in earlier post don’t buy hik this part is important with being second hand they will of already used the P2P setup Camera MAC address is already registered but you won’t have the password I recommend you do a complete firmware update before connecting to web -
QVIS Viper NVR admin password reset
tomcctv replied to freaky's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. With the viper you can’t complete install until you change default password .... it does have a warning on password change on screen on startup. this is a good security feature to prevent nvr hack no default password on World Wide Web go into settings bottom left and then click on system.......on left you will see factory default under maintenance ....... then just follow screen instructions on restart -

Hi. If your dvr has ptz control then it will have numbers or else you can’t set it up tours - presets- all need you to assign a number. looking at your camera spec .... I would not expect to much from a $50 ptz you will probably not be able to alter camera address .... as it needs to be altered on cam and it probably won’t allow that run one from your controller and the other from dvr is a way to get past your problem also set one up for tvi if your recorder supports it and see what setup control you have one you press setup in ptz control on dvr

Hikvision directly to wall
tomcctv replied to RRS2021's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. Cable management boxes like your link are the best way ..... once mounted you don’t notice them going by price can also cost you more. the market. Is full again with hik copies usually found on eBay or amazon there are other options besides hik and dahua we’re are you located -
Hi this is because analog all come with same identity address which is 01 you need to get into one of the cameras menu and change the address to 02 you can do this on most dvrs by entering 95 or 99 in ptz control on your recorder

Hi. I would stick with cat5 cable but have a better transmission path .... not recommend these on the forum for years but they work good http://www.biwave.com/product/product2100_2200.htm but if your going to use a ptz then you connect the data via the audio but before you go ptz not many cards have ptz control rs495 so you will have to use a controller.... but you won’t be able to move ptz via anything with remote viewing a DVR is much better than a card and a lot cheaper and will give you remote viewing control

Dedicated Micros to Hikvision upgrade
tomcctv replied to Chrispygreen's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Then questions need to be answered to your supplier/ installer old hikvision software ..... old apps and bad network path Uk business and no backup ..... your DM system was split ... if one went down you still had 32 cameras as backup. 64 on one hikvision system everything is down apart from the hik 64 you will also have to take into account a raid storage..... UK law is 31 days some businesses are 21 70% of theads on this forum alone is about hik recorders hacked passwords - software failure ..... recorder short life span ip cameras are good but recorders are no good to protect a business -

Lift control to have an access control system with a intercom system
tomcctv replied to mitch04's topic in General Access Control Discussion
Hi. We have done a lot of work with lift companies over the years your problem is going to be running two systems together which is never good also the fire safety of the system would have to control both systems all of which is going to cost a lot and also your access control company might not allow it and could validate any insurance but you could also be over thinking things people who need to access more floors that there access card allows would be better also carrying a override key asking your access company to install a override key on the lifts keyboard to swap from access control to lifts own keyboard control ( you may find it already has one) but always involve lift company and 3rd party could be costly -
