Qvis cameras? Qvis EYE-E36-V2W-N

Anyone have any experience with any qvis cameras? Maybe some snapshots or sample video or reviews?

 

Looking to buy a few for another install.

I just ordered one to test out.. I guess I'll report back here with samples since no one seems to have any experience with them.

Camera came in. Very solid, I thought it was all plastic from the pictures but it is indeed all metal. Snaps and vids to come.

One thing I really like about this camera is the OSD controls, they are located on the cable, about 36 inches from the camera. Very convenient.. with my CNB's, my body usually gets in the way when using the OSD.

Haven't used it in a live environment yet, but it looks good so far. I'm going to install this one at my firehouse overlooking the ATM for a week or so to see how well it performs.

Huh- not sure about that camera. Maybe you don't have it setup really? Maybe a quick demo in a temporary spot? Looks good in natural light, terrible with interior lights on, not great with IR's on.

The low light pic isn't natural light, it's from a CFL lamp about 8 feet to the left of the FOV. I'm going to try and get some daytime outside video tomorrow. And as far as the settings, I'm still learning about all of the different available settings on different cameras, so I very well could have it setup wrong.

Did you ever get the outside shots,and which do you like better CNB or QVIS?

I kinda gave up on the camera to be honest... I installed it at the ATM, i'll grab a video next time I'm at the fire house. I don't think it's worth what I paid.

 

With my limited experience, I prefer CNB.

I talked to Sean and he says they are decent cameras, that they sometimes need a little tweaking to get a good picture as the default settings can be weird sometimes. I'll play with it some more and see what I can come up with.

Hi Jason,

 

In your second video, you have a color rolling issue due to the certain type of lighting. Within the menu, there is a setting called "Anti CR" which will take care of that issue. Also, maybe its just me, but that same video appears to be slightly out of focus.

I've been focusing with my iPhone

 

Bought an RF modulator for my old 13 inch tv set until I can get something fancier, will refocus and check out the anti-cr deal next week. Thanks.

Yep, stamped 1996 on the back.. my first color TV! I was 13 and Santa left it for me that year

Cool. I got my childhood TV up here at my warehouse too. It came a few years earlier, but I guess this one was high tech back then because it has RCA inputs on it. Those little 13" TV's are great for analog cameras though.
