backyard camera

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I'm looking to add to the system (again). I need advice on a good day/night backyard cam with IR. It will cover the back door, deck and gate entrance 30ft away and possibly shed and part of the pool depending on the angle. Wide view. I was looking at the speco 7706dnv or the mace cam53 or the ex9100 with 3.6 or 4-9 mm lens from viewing the posted pics. I'm using extreme ex40 domes out front, so could add another out back but thought I might go a little cheaper and don't need the armor, Yet.

I looked at the extreme ex14 but it is overkill on the price and specs, I think.

Your thoughts please, and I am definitely open to suggestions.

VST_MAN,

Since no one else is commenting I guess they are in agreement. Thanks for the insight. I'll post pics when I install it

the Speco has a Mechanical IR cut Filter, true Day Night switch to BW mode.

this isnt them, but shows you what a camera with an IR cut Filter on in the daytime looks like:

Are those cameras all using fixed lenses?

I can't get over how clear those photos are.

If those are varifocal, man you can focus. Daylight helps also.

those were, 1 color cheap bullet, 1 cheap exview BW bullet, 1 BW bullet, and 1 varifocal high res dome (top right) i was testing. Yes the bullets were fixed lenses EI.
