Looking for some expertise on a new home PoE / NVR based surveillance system
tomcctv replied to CCAR's topic in System Design
Hi. There just resellers they don’t make anything system come in 4-8-16-32 way one of the best systems on the market at the moment is TVT and they also have the best app ever made for a cctv system it gives you full control of your system including remote reboot TVT makes hikvision and dahua look like toys if your installing your self I would buy an 8 way nvr and buy cameras as you build up all there system take 2mp upto 4K as standard and you can use almost every camera brand I have installed over 60 of these units and had no problems just to show how much you was quoted luma nvr basic $1.400 tvt Ai 4K nvr is around $400 and does a lot more -

Hi. If recorder is connected to internet then no it’s not just local…. You don’t even need face detection it still collects that data To stop others watching your system …. While on internet your system is connected to a server 1000s miles away https://www.securityinfowatch.com/video-surveillance/article/21227289/fcc-moves-one-step-closer-to-banning-hikvision-dahua-products

So a ptz in window ….. that’s not small So none visible ir your just selling your crap

Hi. Yes the system is good …. However the data protection is not for everyone that visits your home ……. You can’t control that side of your system dahua does i tell people now to have a switch that allows you to turn off your recorders network while your home and only switch network on when your home is empty if you have not installed it yet I would hold off as you can’t send it back once used dahua sent me some kit offers $125 for recorder and 10 cameras …. That’s a reduction of $600 on same kit last month most countries are still waiting for the ban result

tomcctv replied to DaveInTrinity's topic in Installation Help and Accessories
Hi. Your right these types of testing are a pain first I would do is strip each cable end and split all the cables go to one end and check continuity on every cable …. Then do the same on other end …… if you get continuity then you know you have a bad cable clip into cable also twist each pair together at one end and check continuity at other end if all is ok try simple tests like make both ends back up …. Plug one end into your network and the other end plug in a laptop and see if it picks up your internet if that works then next is to look at your Poe from reading your post it sounds like your not direct to nvr so camera power is from your switch setup ? -
Oyn-x password reset
tomcctv replied to HDviewer's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi there is no code generator for this unit you should be getting a password reminder to your password and if you have had it working before you can also reset via the app if you can’t do any of the above then then also after entering wrong password a few times you will see a retrieve password you need to scan and copy the QR code that comes on screen then send that to who supplied you the unit …. They will get back with code that unit is sold under a few names falcon viper but infact it is a TVT nvr and they are one of the best on market today -
Unable to change day/night profile time Dahua DVR FW 4.0
tomcctv replied to Melvin123's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi. This is a bit understood with a few FW with dahua and the problem is not with the recorder it’s the cameras with standard cameras IR is switched on and off via sensor in the camera so dvr does not have control of this feature. If you have cameras that allow this control then you would have access via dvr menu do you have control of your cameras menu via the ptz settings on the dvr -
