tomcctv replied to bigb56's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions

tomcctv replied to pauldawson21's topic in General Digital Discussion
Hi motion alerts has never been reliable which system do you have and how many cameras -
Please don’t buy anything else from that company ….. £500 ($590) for one camera and a budget nvr hilook ….. which is hik cheapest unit . Should of been no more than £150 with hard drive fitted also power assisted camera £100 …. Is just a powerline adapter…. Rip off

Hi Paul what is your budget and amount of cameras used also your location

Something like this … but you will need a power supply for camera or use a Poe switch at camera end ( switch will power 4 cameras) https://www.amazon.co.uk/NETGEAR-PL1000-100UKS-Powerline-Ethernet-Homeplug/dp/B01BD9TFI4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=2U4QPD997NOCT&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.qvm_gQ5Qeh4zIWqKJzeCuHkCulZ3PqCLnHGXSA1Ehc3C5P-t_FIXo1YEHJWYqO8_r1BMyuf-31Jqkri7rAEfzIij5RuXp7-OGvTdGoMUSVedYV2xRuh7Ji_bZHnYdFGAnNMr_ksy3u78YupWNhEnuf-JwPdw65F8bYS-6Pz6lcshNyAHGaFGGdLIyfclX2pknuglHxzdz4YxcqTkBXp4rw.dbe8pGwa4i5i7AseQMVb4DnjrBA6-dUudpqvZU0EXVg&dib_tag=se&keywords=netgear+powerline+1000&qid=1712609155&sprefix=netegear+power%2Caps%2C93&sr=8-3

Hi when an over priced company lies to you then it’s a hint they have no clue powerline adapters have been around for years and IS NOT NEW TECHNOLOGY by them just buy a set of netgear powerline adapters and you have the same and work on any iP camera and don’t buy anything from that company they have listed 1 cam 1 nvr for £1.200 ($1.800) that has to be the most expensive one cam system in the world and that’s not fitted

Hi. As you can see from posts over 10 years ago I am not a fan of hikvision it’s always been clunky and out of date. where are you based ??? what functions of Ai are you looking at using with your system ? most Ai nvrs also need Ai comparable cameras so just swapping out your nvr is not going to help what is your budget ? I have been using TVT for over 8 years and I have not seen anything better as of yet and the Ai side works well and no extra costs

Hi axis updated there app yesterday have you updated it yet

Swann NVR Night Recording
tomcctv replied to relbourn's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
Hi. One good system is the TVT … I have been using them for installs the last 6 years it also has one of the best apps available with full control over the system the only problem with that Swann system is the cameras won’t work on anything else how many cameras are you looking for and what type of property will be protected ? -

Replaced HDD and lost DVR configuration?
tomcctv replied to svaljak's topic in Digital Video Recorders
Hi it depends on your DVRs operating system …. In your case it sounds like an old windows based …. In this case settings are stored on the hard drive…….. hard drive is split in two known as a partition… one part master (for settings and operating software……. And other part is storage (recordings ) usually found on geovision or avermedia -
Hi yes it’s possible… you will need to have a recorder which uses a app
