Soundy 1 Posted July 7, 2012 Oops, had the Panny and Viv reversed on the labels... fixed that now. Which one do you like the best? It's night and day... almost literally. With fully default settings, the Axis looks like a daytime shot. Stunning.
nDAlk90 0 Posted July 7, 2012 What about the Dahua IP cameras you tested? Have you tested it in this restaurant? Is all your work restaurant? Hope they give you free lunch for all your hard work... thewireguys 3 Posted July 7, 2012 The Axis camera handles the lighting the best but there is no detail in that image. @xellbuy what is your biggest vertical which you install cameras? Axis:
koolmer 0 Posted July 7, 2012 The Axis picture is obviously best. With less noise reduction you might get a little more detail.
Soundy 1 Posted July 7, 2012 What about the Dahua IP cameras you tested? Have you tested it in this restaurant? Tried the 2MP dome... it's not that great with the low light. Soundy 1 Posted July 16, 2012 These guys are quite "image-conscious" and are pretty set on using dome cameras. The Axis I used was a box style, just because that's all that was available to me to test... they let it slide because it was only temporary. I'm not aware whether there's a dome version of the 3MP Dahua box.
buellwinkle 0 Posted July 17, 2012 You can make a dome camera out of any box camera. Just mount it to a round piece of plywood and attach a clear plastic salad bowl under it. Then apply a Dahua decal to the outside. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Oval-Clear-Plastic-Serving-Salad-Bowl-40-oz-/180930534740?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2a204cdd54 You all know I'm kidding right? Let me put some smiley faces to make sure

myplace46 0 Posted July 19, 2012 Hey Buelwinkle, Same here. I have to click on the little blue camera at the bottom left of the screen, then it pops up. Try that, see what you get. Cheers, John

myplace46 0 Posted July 20, 2012 That's just a snapshot, not video. well.... your right. My mistake, I didn't look at it long enough to realize it was a static scene. I tried it through IE and it tries but won't connect in that browser either. Oh well I tried.
buellwinkle 0 Posted July 21, 2012 Many of these cameras that don't play outsite of IE usually have a streaming URL that can be used to send video directly to a browser. For example, to get the full web interface for ACTi cameras you have to use IE, but you can do a get_stream that brings it to any browser, like Safari on my Macbook but just video, not the entire interface.
