MegaPixel Cameras - Images and Demos

Recommended Posts

Try it .. (same scene)

you may have some surprises ...

Have you noticed that there are NOT these sample images in the Avigilon Web site? (PRO series cameras .. & night time & with lights ...

??? why would you use a 11MP camera when a 5MP does the trick?

Also the Pro cameras are not D/N only day or night.

"..or night"..

The name is this.. yes.. ( "-M" Monochrome)... but you tried "& night time & with lights ..."

It's very strange that in Avigilon Gallery there is not any video sample with this PRO cameras ..during the night.. in outdoor.. with lights (as cars .. for example..)

Thewireguys, would you post any images of your PRO-M camera night test/with lights??

Avigilon is slow to post samples of new cameras, and those samples that are posted have been relatively sparse. Installers generally have good things to say about the cameras. I find it particularly interesting that Avigilon was added to the list of cameras to consider for low light (in a recent thread on this forum). Would love to see low light from both the new H.264 cameras and the 5 mp. I've been talking to a home owners association that wants to install a new camera system. Avigilon might be the way to go with that project.

Best,

Christopher

Chris, I have the 1080P and the 5MP Jpeg2000 cameras on my demo server. When I have time I can get you some shots.

Excellent.

I'll send you photos of the proposed site when I get a chance. There is a long entrance that goes straight towards the clubhouse before making a left or right at the T. The entrance and exit has two wide lanes separated by an island, making the total width about six lanes. The cars turn left or right about 100 feet from the clubhouse. With cameras under the eves pointing straight down the entrance/exit, we should be able to get plates during the day and vehicles at night no problem, but if we can get plates at night, that would be good too.

Best,

Christopher

Both cameras have the same 4.5-10 Arecont lenses (which I am not a fan of). Keep in mind the Avigilon is A/I and it has a Manual lens on it so the image will be even better with a A/I lens.

Thanks for the pics Wireguys.

Typical Arecont scene. Contrast alway seems off out of the box as compared to other cams, I find. I always have to tone it down a bit because I find the picture too dark.

Yea I am not a fan of Areconts image but I do like the resolution from the 10MP. The 2 cameras I like from Arecont are the 10MP and the 180's other wise Avigilon all the way.

Avigilon all the way.

Not even an option around here.

6 dealers in the state and they aren't interested in adding any.

Yes they are.

Just supply a steady stream of customers, and don't try to compete with existing dealers.

The last thing Avigilon wants to do is allow a new kid on the block that wants to go to bid with the big boys. Avigilon is awesome, but the big boys have other toys so its all about saving face.

You won't find Avigilon installers on Craigslist. That's a good thing in my opinion.

Hello there

I was testing day/night cameras at my aparment (cuz our CCTV lab is not ready at the moment :S)

I forgot to take my luxometer readings, will post that later.

I know that some of the videos are not smooth, its because of my laptop

Shots made outside from first floor, at day it looks like this (from IQeye IQ755):

At night:

IQeye IQ755 - 5.0 Mpixel cam, 10fps, f4.5-10mm/F1.8, Lightgrabber off, Shutter 1/50, no IR leds:

GeoVision GV-BX120D - LowLight 1.3Mpixel camera, 30fps, f2.8~12mm megapixel lens, Auto Iris, Shutter 1/120 and 1/60, no IR leds

Still not impressed with IQI

I know I know. But I sell those cams only because of that "exposure window" thingy

I will show You another sample from IQeye:

Inside day: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/IQ755.inside.Avi

Inside night, 1/50, no light grabber:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/IQ755.inside.night.Avi

compare to:

ACTi with IR Leds http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/ACTi.night.inside.Avi

or my beloved GV-BX120, 1/120 shutter, No IR leds:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/6833159/Testy/GeoVision.inside.night.Avi

What You think about those?

EDIT

@DOWN

Ok, I will do that.

And here is "Rat shot" from 1.3Mpixel GeoVision BX-110D.

In the IQI night video, there are two people walking a dog on a footpath between the house and big tree. Can you please take the lux reading on that footpath. It's difficult to judge the light from a video, but if it's as dark as I think it is, that is very impressive for a 5mp camera at 1/50 shutter.

Best,

Christopher
