Carl, Network Camera Critic- 1956 – 2015

by networkcameracritic

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that Carl unexpectedly passed away this week. You have known him as the webs best go to security camera specialist. We knew him as a loving father, caring husband, and great mentor. This is a sad loss for the security camera industry. His reviews were the most thorough, unbiased and in-depth resource on the industries' most popular cameras. Carl had the most loyal followers, and this site brought him so much joy. Thank you for sharing this journey with Carl.

Sincerely,

Rebecca, Charlie, Nicole, and Dalton

He will be missed I really enjoyed his reviews and he always got back to you when you had a question. I hope that he went in peace. RIP my friend.

A big loss to our forum. He was the man I really wish to meet in person asking for his opinion. Be blessed, Carl.

Hey just read this terrible news about carl/buell..this is a terrible loss.

I was a complete stranger to the man but he gave up his time to give me advice, as he did to many posters in this forum and at his blog.

Very sorry to hear about this loss. Carl is a great guy! found out that we went to the same highschool, although more then 2 decades apart.

This really is a shock, he has helped me often through the years on forums , I didn't know his age but he always came across as a person of about 35 years old which reflects on his character, but the real loss is for his family, I hope that you will feel some comfort in knowing that there are a lot of people on this forum that think very kindly about him and feel very much for your loss.

Dominic.

I'm very sorry your your great loss! At first I thought this was an April fool's joke - just by the title. I pray that God will give your family His perfect peace as you go through this most difficult time.

I'm like the many others here on this forum who were blessed by Carl's generous time and efforts and personal attention.

Jim

This is extremely sad news. Carl was always helpful to me when I reached out with questions. I thank him for all he has done to help others whilst asking for nothing in return. May he rest in peace.

I just found his website last week, saw the info on his site. Sad, even though I didn't know him at all, it's very sad. Great site though, one of the best.

I haven't been active on the forums now for awhile but started looking for his newer reviews when I was considering a couple of new cameras for my wife's office... really shocked to hear of his passing. He and I corresponded often over forum PM, especially when we were both starting to mess about with Milestone.

Very heavy heart and sad for his family. 59 years is far too young to lose him.
